SL63 AMG
Had them fitted yesterday as a birthday treat :D, previously owned by W210 Fan on his old CLK, they do look slightly tatty with Laquer corrosion etc.

They completely transform the car IMO, and if you squint it looks like a C43 AMG :bannana: :bannana:

What do you think guys???

Looks good ....

Just the skirts to get now ! :)

They do look good, for me I would have had them refurbed while you have had them sitting around.

The time and effort you have spent on your car the kerbing would annoy me.

Its all down to £££ im afraid, I need to get the car serviced & sort things out around my flat before I spend on non essensal things.

I forgot the mention the kink in the front wheel. My indy had a good look at it and said it was perfectly safe, he said it could knock it into shape but advised agaist it incase it weaken the metal (as its on the edge area).

Had a set of indy directional tyres fitted aswell, that look great & hopefully offer good grip in the wet.

It certainly getting there, all down to your hard work and patience. Great looking car.

Looks fantastic mate! Its been a pleasure seeing all the progress made and the car is a credit to you! I truly know what it is like once you have been bitten by the 'bug' to mod these things! Stunning car, although without sounding off, i still think the AMGs in 18" look better!! ;-)

Rob.

Looks fantastic, good work. It's nice transforming your car like this. My AMG kit started with the rear bumper, I'm pleased that it's all on now although it took me a while too.

Just need to find you a set of side skirts then...

I think the wheels and the car work together very well. Looking good!:)

coming together well mate, still not sure about those clear corners! ;)

Thanks for all the posistive comments guys :)

I would have gone for 18"'s if I could have purchased them for the same price as what I paid for these ;) (Never going to happen!)

The clear corners are staying untake they break or let in water :D Its my only non-OEM mod and although I did think they look Barry at 1st, I think they look virtally OEM anyway :)

Sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, sideskirts, did I say sideskirts?:devil::D:D

Could you just rub done the rims and spray to outer inch - hiding the join in the curve? Although they weren't as bad as your 17's all of my std wheels have been touched up in this way and look a lot better for it (more difficult on the AMGs though)

Looks a bit high at the front to me - time for spring pad change? (As I assume the B12 kit is out of the question for a while).
EDIT: Actually the passenger side looks higher, the drivers OK - is that the lay of land - or has it not settled down from the spring change you had a few months back?

Yep it does sit around 2cm higher on the passenger side that the drivers side ever since the spring change 6 months ago - although its slightly noticable in the pictures, in person it does take a few long looks to notice.

I will get it serviced and fix the odd little faults (heater controls + rear passenger window 1st) below I lower it etc etc :)

Re: the Sideskirts - some will pop-up on eBay for dirt cheap - I sense a disturbance in the force - I have been unusally lucky with all my mods re: eBay and paying peanuts - its weird! :D:D:D (not that im complaining of course!)

+ I have a handful of mod idea's that I havent yet seen on a W202, watch this space!

Hi - bit late getting you your post but interested what effect your new wheels/tyres have on the handling. i completely agree the visual effect is immediate - looks 100% better - as i think my c240 (72k) did when I put the wheels on. But, i have never been completely happy with the handling - a bit boat like and very keen to tramline - i even replaced all four new tyres after 4000 miles for tyres with a less directional tread which did help but not completely. One thing though, my 7.5" wheels (all round) have an ET of 42 but i have been told by a few MB peeps that the diff is not enough to cause problems....not so sure though....tempted to put the factory alloys back on!

Overall the handling has improved, it feels alot more stable at high speeds. The steering is strange though, at speeds of around 30Mph travelling around sharpe bends it seems as if it could be more tail happy should I increase the speed - or maybe im just paranoid after writting off my old car.

Overall I happy with them compared to the 16"s - I have directional tyres on BTW...

Looks good. My c230k came out the factory with those wheels on! I hate the look of the standard alloys. Mine handles well but then again never had standard wheels on it. Only others had were amg 18's off a clk while mine were refurbished and the difference in ride was very noticeable. Harder over bumps and tram lining so stick with 17's. Also think they look more suitable than when the 18's were on.
