My new SL320 R129

Ditto - looks lovely. How do you find the V6 - it tempts me somehow.

Good looking car with the AMG wheels and bodykit. I agree the suspension looks a little too low at the moment.

These images aren't great, I'm waiting for the exhaust tip to come back from the chrome plater and some decent weather for a photoshoot. The interior is looking fresh as I've just had it fuly re-connolised and carpets deep cleaned :)

How much was re-connolising? ... If you don't mind me asking...

The V6 is a treat... Spins up swiftly; mine is a standard 1999 car that has revised exhaust note. It sounds great with the roof down. Rasping middle tones.

I'm not racing about so it's great for me... Well over 200hp is fine by most's money.

Gearbox matches well. It's a proper grand tourer with pan roof on, and roof off is going to be a treat when the sunshine returns.

+1 for ride height and definitely +1 for wheels that size ... They fill the rear arches better

Looks very nice. Sadly the hard top is on now though I guess???!!! What is a ball park figure for a similar car? I could be tempted as I might be looking soon!

If you're talking about my black one, it was sub £5k

Don't mind at all! I paid £420 to re-connolise the seats, door cards (which were terrible), centre console, arm rest, sun visors, roll bar, tonneau cover and a re-trim of the drivers bolster. The work was carried out by a local specialist who's bread and butter is retrimming classic Rollers & Bentleys, the finish is amazing.

It looks a little too low for my liking. I think you'll be bottoming out on speed bumps and hitting the front bumper on kerbs while parking how it is currently I suspect. You could easily raise it (at least so the front and rear height matches) with different spring pads.

It looks like a very nice example aside from that though I must admit.

Yup, she's low! I was going to raise it a little with the AMG spring pads, but this is a Sunday driver and the stance has really grown on me; it looks menacing parked up on the driveway!

There is a certain something about looking at your car from a distance and getting the wow factor.

If it was an everyday car would that feeling wear off???? Possibly if the ride was a pain.

As a Sunday driver then great. Pop out for a spin. Clean it. Enjoy it for what exactly it is wit the possibility of a firmer ride.

I'd do the same.

I think there's an amg lowered version of these cars anyway... even if you've got just a standard engine.

I used H&R springs on my S124 estate to drop the standard ride down to about Sportline height.

Thats exactly what I did tonight, had a few really heavy days at work and the only thing that I was looking forward to was firing up the SL and going for a cruise!

Don't do it so much now but I used to really enjoy going out for a blast in mine at night with the hood down :)

Rajhundal yours look spot on any future plans for it?

Plans? erm I'm going to get it through winter with the pano on, a bit of simple maintenance. Once the weather picks up then I want to give the hood a deep clean and re-seal. The bodykit had dealer fit parking sensors which I got removed and the bumpers were re-painted. So the body could do with a cut to get it looking as good as the bumpers. For the interior: The car has an aftermarket Alpine headunit, I'm sourcing a Becker navigation unit to complete the look of the interior.

Other than that, its just about enjoying it!

There are a few UK Indi Pros on eBay at strong prices, and a couple from eastern Europe a bit cheaper.

Kool I'm pretty sure there's a company called renovo who do hood restoring kits/dyes. Make sure to wax the car well before applying it though as when it rains it can run onto the bodywork after the first few times it see's water... Or maybe that was just me being unlucky ;)
