I've had my Mercedes indie go through the car with a fine toothed-comb and it's booked in tomorrow for...A new gearbox sump and full gearbox service, headlamp wash pump, new exhaust bolts, rear brake lines and steering bushes. There's a couple of other bits and bobs but those are the main things that I remembered.

Glad to see you are getting in fine fettle before you sell it and make someone very happy for Christmas:D:D

It was around this time last year that a top bloke called Terry came and bought my first labour of love, the C36...:D

Here's a couple of photos that I meant to upload:

Check out that stitching! :D

Plenty of c43 admirers here they are a superb car.

Christmas? There's still three weeks of Advent left!

What's the betting it's an E55k for the day itself?

I prefer to keep it as original looking as possible if I can, the Avantgarde grille is always a good mod though.

I agree but colour coded handles should have been on from the factory IMO its not like they were not available or anything

Got the (official) list of niggles that my indie sorted;

Renewed gearbox sump, gasket and filter. Fresh gearbox oil.
Renewed all indicator bulbs.
Renewed both rear brake flexis and bled up.
Renewed exhaust bolts and nuts.

Lee,

Thanks for the PM and the offer of first refusal; this really was the car I was searching for before I bought my C43 saloon - and I'd love to have another.

Unfortunately, as we discussed, I just don't have anywhere to keep it at the moment - so I'm going to have to say no. I hope it finds a home with another enthusiast - they're getting rare now and they're a great Q-car.

Cheers,

Gaz

No problem at all Garry, all the best to you and your family. :thumb:

Due to my Mrs insisting on isofix I unfortunately won't be pursuing this further.

Lee has been a gentleman to deal with and it looks like a great buy for someone.
