navigation (speed camera alerts)

Those are the regular locations for mobile cameras. The system shows the locations where mobile cameras may be, not where they actually are at any given moment.

I only display and have audio sounds for the static camera - in some areas the mobile sites means you can't listen to the radio !

It was spurious info - there were 5 or 6 camera icons shown within few hundred yards :dk:.

Perhaps each has been reported at that spot and added without the previous being checked/removed.

Hi folks,

kjl (Keith) asked me in another thread about my program for producing speed camera POIs. I wrote it for my own use, so I've not fully documented it yet. However, I saw a pre-existing program called MB POI Loader (Google will find it) which does something similar. MB POI Loader is a bit more elegant than my program and I recommend it however it only works on Windows. My program works on Windows, Mac and Linux and produces data files which are about 30% smaller - and so quicker to load from SD card.

If anyone is interested, I can do a write-up and post details here. In the meantime, you'll need to subscribe to a speed camera database - my program works with SCDB.info - Die weltweite Blitzerdatenbank which gives validated speed camera information for several countries for the very reasonable annual price of EUR 9.95.

However if you are already using pocketgpsworld (mentioned above) and happy with it - no problem, that's fine with me.

Regards,
Malcolm
