Never had points

24 years of blemish free motoring so far, although a few words early on with the police.

Hope this thread won't jinx me now.

Karma caught up with me after 26 years....

Got nabbed by a mobile camera in June 2006. Went on the course.

Got snapped again by a mobile camera in December 2006. 3 points and £60.

Been a good boy since but one can never be too cautious about mobile cameras placed at sites of "community concern".....

I applied for my first license the day I was 16 to ride my BSA Bantam, 175cc 46 years ago, clean license ever since, more luck than judgement!

Well Robert,if we are playing dirty, then my first Lambretta counts ,so I am with you on 46 years !!

I wish you luck in your litigation.
Regards

I got 3 points a while back in a (say it softly!)BMW.:o
I do about 25k miles a year in car and on a bike capable of 170mph but no points for the last 12 years.
My best friend is the MPG gauge. Having given up seeing how quickly I can get somewhere, I now see how efficiently I can get places.
Maybe it’s my Scottish nature, but I now find I can save money and collect less points.;)

If this had come up a week or two back i would also be saying i have a clean licence. I had a letter through the post four days ago for passing one of those fine vans doing 72 in a 50. Why its 50 i dont know as it's a straight dual carriage way in a non built up area. this road was always 70 up until the last few years when the council went mad putting lights everywere and reducing the limits. it now takes twice as long to cross town well done them. I am thinking of contesting it as the van was parked ilegally on the grass on the side of the dual carriage way that you're not allowed to stop on. anyone know what my chances are.

Think you will find that they can, laughingly, park ANYWHERE they like! I once saw a cash van parked IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, whilst driving through Luton! As I was doing the limit, I gave the nice man a single finger salute and toodled off.......

So true... they do tend to position these things where their revenue generating capability is greatest.

And in my case(s) not where there was a greater threat of an accident.

So far zero points since I got my provisional back in 1994 :)

*touches wood*

Can you be done for giving the single finger salute. Many times I would like to but don't because of the potential consequences.
