as per title just picked up my c32 today , been lurking here and looking at different ones for months on ebay etc , wasn't sure whether to get a modded or standard in the end i got a 2002 one owner from new 90,000 mile standard one with full mb history , all extras command center, xenons parking sensors etc./... very nice the back seats appear to be virtually unused , drivesw beautifully almost silent just with that underlying grunt , drove very easy coming back 90 mile trip and it was effortless , when i got home i just had a bit of a kickdown and the traction control light was still flashing at 60mph :D, just a couple of bits need doing air con isn't that cold and the cd magazine for the 6 cd changer is missing i could do with finding out which one exactly mine takes there is a few on ebay

Congrats on the purchase of your c32...
Had mine 18months now and haven't had too many problems so far....I've changed the pulley bearings as they were making an awful racket and the headers as they were shot when I got it...
There are plenty of posts on this forum which spell out the problems you can get with c32's and ways to avoid expensive bills lol. On the plus side there are some great mods you can get which will take you're car to +400hp:D
Happy motoring:thumb:

Mines been bullet proof mechanically.....can't say that about the bodywork, (loads of rust that's now been done) ventilation stepper motors (which click too this day can't be bothered) its had a new air con radiator, front electric seat packed in (now wired so it works but not without the ignition on) alarm siren replaced.....along with the charger pulley and ec map so now embarrasses pretty much anything on the road! Oh and plenty of room in the boot to throw the dog and get loads of crap to the dump (it's an estate lol) to be fair they are 10 year old cars now so things go wrong, although 18mpg average still kills lol!

Before I bought mine, 3k service was carried out by MB reading.

These cars are v expensive to run as with any AMG but the 32 seem to be more expensive to maintain properly.

Before I bought the car the previous owner took the car to MB dealer and got them to change everything that needed changing or warn out... from the top of my head: spark plugs&HT leads, rear springs, Brakes, seat motors, paint work was corrected by official mb workshop.

Plus after I bought it the alternator failed so I had to replace it, over £600 with MB.

I've done over 10k miles and it's not needed anything, it's been a pleasure to drive, I prefer it more than a 203 C55, I adore my 32, does everything and destroys anything that comes near it haha.

They are not cheap to maintain I spent allot on mine but mainly on performance mods:

Now it's running perfectly I get 28mpg with ease, other half always gets over 30mpg when she drives it.

If you look after the car and spend money on maintaining the car properly then it will run hassle free for a long time.

If you are on tight budget then don't bother getting one.

Hi Benzedup. Thanks for that. I'm really looking forward to getting this and have already made a list of mods lol. Keep browsing ebay for SL55 intake :)

Like you I too will be taking it to a specialist (have to find one near Beaconsfield/Slough area) to have it checked over and list of things that need changing drawn up, hopefully it wont be too long as I want the eurocharged pulley/map, IC pump, heat exchanger and intake kit asap!!!
