New pressure washer recommendations please

Hmm,

Given a pressure washer is more economical with water than a regular hose.

If you let the pressure washer draw from a bucket or tub (which most will do), is it then a "hose pipe" ?

I would go for the K3.540 over the K2.400. The reason being that I have had the cheaper Karcher's in the past and they only last a year max. I have the K3.550 which is similar to the K3.540 and I have had it 3 years, the water cooled motors seem to last longer than the air cooled ones.

If you have access to Costco then that's a good place to buy Karcher's as Costco effectively guarantee them for ever.

Anyone going to stop me? :(

Me.

That's exactly the same as mine and I'm on to my third, all replaced under warranty.

Once it breaks again, I'll be on the hunt for one from a different manufacturer.

Afraid I can't suggest an alternative, this is my first personal pressure washer...

I have had a very positive Nilfisk experience.

I do look after it reasonably well though.. I always ensure there is no trapped air and the lance is providing a steady stream before I turn it on and I always ensure it is completely empty of fluids before I store it in winter.

This is stressful...I haven't ordered it yet...I did read plenty of good reviews and I suppose those that had problems are covered by a 2 year warranty.

My Nilfisk experience is good too 5 years very heavy service I can't complain and would have simply bought another Nilfisk, which I think I will do as Karcher certainly dont last

I have a Karcher K2.360 which came with all the bits and bobs, which saves on buying them.

It will run hot water and suck up detergent - most models won't.
The standard jet hose is not long enough, had to get an extension which is now too long. The patio brush cleans patios, simples.

It replaced an elderly cheapo Silverline (compatible with Halfords attachments) with a me repaired non-return valve, it "works" after a fashion.

Brushes and nozzles are easy to find for the Karcher.

But what I cannot figure out - what on earth are the wheels for?

So you can wheel it a bit closer if the jet hose isn't long enough. ;)

Costco had 2 the other day:
K2400 with patio cleaner - £120
K4600 with patio cleaner - £210
both inc VAT.

If you tug on the 'ose, the machine falls over.
If you want to move it, you pick it up. It has a perfectly good handle.
The wheels serve no practicable purpose.

I attached an extinction 'ose, so now I got 10m of untameable coils round me n'ankles.

If you want less pressure to rinse with, the jet is variable, and you can move back from the car to mist it off.
