I still have the glovebox shelf at Nov 2004 but do not have the leather pull strap on the centre armrest - which, incidently, has to be the most bizarre omission.

Didn't they remove the Aux input to Comand at some point recently, too?
Philip

:) crazy or what? :)

Are we talking about the AUX1 and AUX2 setting that allow for external items to be fitted?

I have the Auxillary options on my vehicle so again lets ask others?

:) Page 89 of the COMANd manual refers

Haven't noticed one on my mid-2005 built car, but I have to say I have not read the manual from cover to cover (too busy posting;) ) so cannot be conclusive on this.

EDIT. Just checked. I have removeable glovebox shelf and AUX for Comand, but no leather pull on centre arm-rets. I really must read my manual more!

If my reaction is anything to go by, the pennies MB saved in omitting the pull on the armrest is far outweighed by the mutterings of "cheapskate manufacturer" every time I want to access the manual. No wonder that everytime someone puts RTFM in a thread I think "I would if it wasn't so "expletive deleted" difficult to get at."

I hope DC Insider is monitoring this. The 211 E-class is a very nice motor but the accountants are not doing anyone any favours.

Still if I had not said anything we would all be agreeing how the 2005 and onward E-class are better than the early 2004. That said the new V6CDI is allegedly a better engine than the in-line straight 6???

What is even more depressing is that newer US 211's cannot even play Mp3's on the DVD player? We have followed over Easy Exit, is this going to be the next cut back?

Finally got round to taking the picture.

The car lives in the garage, the mirrors are set on fold by default. We have the headlights switch on automatically when we unlock it, plus of course we have the easy entrance\exit that all place a drain on the standard battery. Oh forgot that wife always waits tfor the glow plug light to go out before starting.

So the standard battery on our vehicle which only does mainly short journeys.... ooops forgot the tailgate opens electrically and the floor is extended for the stupid dog, this is then retracted and the tailgate shut (electronically) all this is done before the wife hops into the car and as I was saying the standard battery has been perfect.

Here's the picture of the puddle light:
