I always thought the Dodo Purple Haze left my Jasper Blue paintwork looking really good, a thumbs up from me!

Just looked at your shopping list - WOW!!!

So long as you enjoy it it doesn't really matter how much it costs :)

Yours cars going to look and smell like new...

Do you still live at home by any chance....

wife would have a paddy fit if I spend £400 on cleaning stuff.. hehehe

Uve gota look after the ride boys!!but yes i sleep on the floor now.

That's what I like to see, if you're going to do something then do it properly! The money you've spent you'll save on nights out because I doubt you'll see the inside of a pub for a month or two with all that cleaning to do.

I personally think you have no idea how to detail a car....I think you ought to come to the next GTG and demonstrate on our cars so we can see if you've reached the required standard.....:D:D:D:D

lol okey dokey bud!!no, i still go out 3 times aweek. Moneys not a problem, but then i dont drive a lambo and have swissvax products all over my bed there either!i just dont like to do things by halves, i like to save and get what i want, much more rewarding!

It IS All Worthwhile!

Mock all you like gentlemen, but giving the car loads of TLC every once in a while is rewarding. I thought my 968 was in decent nick but did a big detailing clean last week - thoroughly washed, clay'd, bodywork restorer, waxed, sealed, glass, black bits - took forever and main "tool" was elbow grease.
After washing I did one panel at a time, so was able to see the difference as soon as I'd finished one panel. Car had changed colour from a drab red with a tinge of purple back to the full glory of Guards Red, and doing the black bits really brought out the styling detail.
Biggest bonus was finding out how much damage a cellulose sponge, AG silicone blade and chamois can do to your paintwork - I thought the swirl marks were some twit at the garage putting a machine on the car, but most of it was probably me with a sponge washing the car! Merino wash mitt (microfibre mitt for really mucky bits, lower 1/3rd of car and wheels), 2 buckets and microfibre drying cloth for me from now on!
Planning to do the S203 C270CDI in the next week or two - but that's a lot of bodywork compared to the 968 and it's silver, so I don't know if I'm up for the amount of work - or if the improvement will be as marked and obvious as on the 968.

Wouldn't have thought a chamois synthetic or leather would scratch the paintwork. As long as it is cleaned after every wash, it should be ok....a blade on the other hand...nuff said about on here already.

jesus just got bk from work, everyones havning fun here!!

The finger mitts i have 4 off and they are for the following:

1)Paint compound-for taking out oxidations, scratches etc
2)Pre wax cleanses-To take further oxidations out including tar, pollen, traffic film and anything else makin the surface of your car rough, so that once its done it will be lovely and smooth for the wax to go on.
3)Polish-Self explanatory
4)Wax-Self explanatory

theses are what the fore finger mitts are for!!

, and please dont hate, detailing is very therapeutic, and like wise, a great sense of achievment. All the cars ive owned have always been detailed.Infact i never ever just give my merc a quick wash, its detailed everytime, Which maybe a bit much, but i klove it.especially when u go to car shows, people cant stop looking at themselves in the paint!!
