Those of you who may have 'invested' in the MB Bluetooth unit and are having problems locating a Nokia Phone with SAP compatibility may be interested in the following list of Nokia phones which havc the feature as standard. I do not know which of these phones has been tested with the V1 Bluetooth unit but would assume that if SAP is standard then it should work with the MB unit.
N91, N92, N80, N71, E70, E61, E60,9300i,9300,8800,7370,6822,6810,6288,6280, 6270,6233, 6230i, 6230, 6131,6125,6111,6103, 6021 and 3250.
Good luck!

Here is a pretty complete list of SAP compatible phones from various manafacturers

Most of the Symbian based Nokia bluetooth sap phones (i.e the smart phones) will pair with the V1 Bluetooth interface but you can only make calls - no phonebook etc.

I have changed out one of my V1 interfaces for a V2 - and it works great with the N73 - no more entering PINS and full address book download, including multple phone numbers per contact , with the different types identified in the phone book - i.e Richard /M Richard /W Richard/H for richard mobile, work and home

I'm pretty sure that its only a software difference between V1 and V2 and am hoping that MB will find a mechanism to allow dealer to upgrade V1 cradles to V2.

Cheers

So does this mean that not all bluetooth enabled phones will work with the cradle?

At the moment I have a 6230i and a 6230i cradle. Im now getting an N70. I was going to buy a bluetooth module and assumed it would work the same as my current cradle. Is this not the case?

You need a V2 cradle. The 6230i will at least download its SIM address book. The N70 is very similar to N73 (I think) and thus I would expect you to get the full address book download

I think the V2 system may also pair with phones without SAP, but I only hav e a N73 and my wife's 6230i

The V1 cradle defineltly only downloads SIM address book from a 6230i and no address book from the N73

I'll go pair the 6230i with the V2 cradle and see what it downloads later tonight for you

Cheers

Richard

Hi

I just paired the 6230i with my V2 cradle (which had already been paried with my N73 and the address book downloaded by calling 0000).

It paired (had to try a couple of times, but was doing it from memory!), and it downloaded the SIM address book into the cradle without me doing anything (nb, note that the address book downloaded from the N73 was no longer visible). When I dialed 0000 it then (as normal) rebooted the phone and downloaded the Phone address book so both SIM and phone address books became available. As the 6230i phone has no 'multiple numbers per contacts' defined, I couldn't see if it showed each contact differently like it does on the N73.

The cradle docs say it only holds 1 downloaded address book at a time, and as I have done 0000 with the 6230i in place, I know it has overwritten my downloaded N73 phone book.
What I dont know is if I hadnt downloaded the book whether pairing with the 6230i wiped out my N73 downloaded address book

Cheers
Richard

(nb, the V1 cradle only pairs with 1 phone, V2 with 4, and the V1 cradle couldn't download the 6230i phone address book, just the SIM address book)

Thanks for doing that Richard. I think i'll take a chance and get a bluetooth cradle and see if it works when i get my new phone.

worst case senario, it will go back on ebay!

Thanks mate

Mark

For all you V2 cradle owners on this thread: I would be very grateful if you can tell me if the V2 cradle works with non-SAP bluetooth phones as well as SAP ones.
Thank you

Philip

Thanks to Richard, it appears I need to get a V2 version and see if it works. There appears to be 2 part numbers for the bluetooth module. Can anyone tell me which part number is the V2 version??

1. B67875840
or
2. B67876125

Thanks in advance everyone.

It is NOT the 1st one in your list.

R

[EDIT,. I have confirmed that the V2 one is the 2nd in your list]

Ive just been having a conversation with someone at Nokia. This is what they told me.
Devices, such as the MB bluetooth module, use SAP profile which allows the device to connect to the SIM card and access it data. If you were looking to access your phone book on the MB bluetooth module, simply transfer the contacts from the SIM to the phone memory and these can then be accessed.

Dos anyone know if this is true??

Parrot 3200

Sorry to hijack this thread!

I had a Parrot 3200 fitted yesterday and its wonderful.

It sychronised all the numbers in my SE W810i and stored them in its memory.

I had to bluetooth upload numbers from my Nokia9300i but that was easy enough.

I have got it fitted under the audio 10 to the front of the wee cubbyhole and its in a perfect position.

I know it doesn't help those of you with an integrated car kit but its a very good alternative.

Well worth looking into.

Also, it can handle up to 5 registered phones with phonebooks.

Yes, the V2 one also transfers the phonebook when told to (by dialing 0000) using one of the other bluetooth profiles. The V1 did this with siemens but not Nokia. The V2 works properly with Nokia (well, ive only tested N73 and 6230i)

Also, currently the V2 cradle is on backorder - my dealer got 1 in today has lots of customers waiting ...

I have a B67875840 (V1) adapter which I have been using with just a SIM card in. I am looking to change my main mobile phone to avoid having to have a seperate SIM for the car.

Which current (Nokia/Siemens) phones work well that I could go for? I want to avoid having to change my cradle to the V2 (B67876125) one if possible.

Thanks!

I have just bought the Nokia N95 will the Bluetooth cradle to the V2 (B67876125) work with this phone?

Confused!!!

I have been supplied with the wrong cradle altogether for my N73, when I ordered the car I asked for the V2 cradles and was told there was a new one due out and to wait a couple of weeks for the better cradle. It arrived yesterday and it was the HFP Cradle. After half a day of messing around with it and searching MB forums and Nokia forums I decided this was NOT a new model but an older model!!

I then spoke to MB of Milton Keynes and they said that the V1 Cradle was what I needed for the N73!

Having read these posts today I am now totally confused as it would appear that the V1 will not work with my N73 and I need the V2 Cradle

Before I end up getting a V1 and getting stuck again with a non worker could anyone using an N73 with either V1 or V2 confirm what works?

I need to have access to the Phone Book on the phone rather than on the Sim if possible as I have too many contacts to fit on the sim.

I have to get the cradle re-ordered tomorrow so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

I bought a V2 cradle which didnt work with my N70. I then bought an N73 and it worked perfectly with the V2 cradle. It displayed all contacts, phone and SIM. The N73 then went wrong so I returned it and got the HFP cradle as it worked with the N70, now it turns out the N70 is the only phone which you cannot display contacts with. I wish MB would make one bluetooth cradle thats compatible with ALL bluetooth phones like BMW do.

I havnt got comand but am going to next month. Am I right in thinking, comand has a phone book which numbers can be downloaded to and then dialed via a bluetooth cradle?

I believe so. With the HFP cradle & Nokia N73 the numbers don't download but when you have dialed a number it shows in Comand. It then gives you the option to save it but at that point it fails with my cradle. I hope to get my V2 cradle and EVERYTHING should work :bannana:
