Nokia Phones with SAP compatibility

Dialing 0000 gets the phonebook from the phone into the SAP.

On the W204 you then have to tell the COMAND to import the data from the comfort phone cradle to get it into the COMAND. (have to do same even if using Viseeo MB-2)

I dont know if this is just NTG4 (i.e W204, GLK, forthcoming E (W212) and E coupe(CLK) W207) that behaves like this, or it includes the new NTG2.5 systems (all other MY09 cars except S/CL) which also have comfort phone system that works similarly

This is what I did in the end. But all this talk of "comfort" phone and "convenience" phone. What a lot of twaddle.
Annoyingly I now have a partial set-up within my "convenience" phone which the MB-BT refers to as Orange, (my phone provider), as well as my own Nokia, and generally when I switch on, the MB-BT sets-up the Orange but does'nt pair with my phone. I have to manually go to the Nokia to pair off, which will be maintained if I switch off the ignition and then back on again. But leave the car for a couple of hours and it's back to square one. When I try to "de-authorise" the Orange the command is greyed out, presumably because it is part of the set-up S-W.
I give up. Sorry folks, you've got a right !!!!!! in your midst.

Just a side note here - the bluetooth name is sent by the phone & can be set in one of the menus.

We have found the 'Orange' versions of the Nokia phones (which run their own special version of the software) tend to have different bugs to the main series (and sometines less features) when it comes to bluetooth.
For instance, the E51, if you are running the latest Orange software line then when you do object push (i.e send business card) you get duplicate names sent and lose the space between the first and last name. If you run the latest generic Nokia E51 software then you get auto-address-book download (i.e a whole new feature set). There are applications out there to change the ID of the phone so the software upload program thinks its the Nokia generic version rather that the Orange version !!

Thanks for that Richard.
I have now managed to delete the "Orange". Reading the Module manual if the button is pressed for 7 seconds or more it resets to factory condition. I would take this to mean it deletes everything. But my Nokia phone is still apparent as is the phone book so I think it must delete the entry which is high-lighted in the phone list. It still doesn't go straight to my phone when I turn on the ignition but as soon as I high-light it in the phone list it connects straight away. Next step is to delete my phone and start again, well that's the theory anyway. I'll report back.

The situation in the phone list is :
Convenience Phone - nothing stored.
Next on list, my phone, Nokia 6500S, the last phone entered.

When I switch on the SW always goes to the Convenience and reports
no phone installed. I have to manually go to list and enter my phone, despite my phone being the last one installed.
I tried highlighting Convenience in list, installed my phone and got the
"Orange" as above post. This sets the Nokia to "remote sim mode", and the phone is then unusable until I cancel this mode which, of course, dis-connects the phone.
What happened to bringing up the last entered phone?
As far as I'm concerned this SAP module is one very expensive joke, even by Mercedes standards.
My patience is at an end and I come to accept that I will have to install manually every time.

I dont think the SAP is bad, but the W204 comfort stuff seems a bit awkward to say the least

How old is your W204 (there are some telematics upgrades for them)

Richard

Passing thought - if phone book entries are stored on the phone memory rather than the SIM will they still transfer with 0000?

When I was struggling to download mine I ended up with both. It was stored in SIM and Phone. The phone was set up for me in the shop where I bought it, transferred from the old phone.
