Are we still of for a blast afterwards?

As I have to be back home by mid afternoon so I’ll have to leave a drive out to someone else to organise if there is support for one.
I'm not sure how many would be interested in a drive out afterwards, I'm game if there are a few others who fancy it. Below is a previously suggested route for a drive out across the NY Moors, stopping at The Lion Inn (Squadron leader's favorite NY Moors pub) at Blakey ridge for a bite to eat.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome. Shorter/longer/different route ???
If the suggested route is too long, then we could cut out Chop gate and Stokesley and go straight from Helmsley to The Lion Inn at Blakey ridge. I think this might be a better option for most, unless you wanted to drop in to see The Big Fish at Stokesley.

Tim, will the Drone be making an appearance during this meet. If so then I suppose we should factor that into the drive out route. I wouldn't imagine the museum would be impressed if you flew it there would they ?

If you are interested in a drive out, could you enter it next to your name below please.

Don't think I'll be doing the drive out Richy as Steve and I are heading in the opposite direction.

Just make sure that the big lad knows if you are heading Stokesley way as he's currently in Alderney or some other island. :)

After a 4 hour drive there I don't think I'd want another 2 hour drive about!

Apology on the drive out, I'm bringing 3 others with me and they want to see the aircraft/museum as well as your vehicle's!
No problem, I'm sure we will all be taking a tour of the museum.
When we are all there we will arrange a time for the drive out and take it from there.
No schedule, just go with the flow. :thumb:

Hello! I'm still hoping to come but I will need a driver :( Got rushed into hospital last weekend with an incarcerated hernia and it was a full cut open surgery job, I also have pneumonia, which should clear up over the next week or so.

Am asking around friends to drive me as it would be sad to miss this, I may come in the E class if comfort remains an issue for me then.

As for a drive out, this would not be exciting but keeps it short, sweet, has some leg stretching A64 and some narrow bits around Howard, and allows for coffee and maybe photo ops at Castle Howard and finishes at a very quiet starbucks.

Blimey, you are keen! I would want to take things easy but glad to hear you are on the mend:thumb:

Tim,
Sorry to hear about your I’ll health. Hopefully you are on the mend without any issues.

That drive out could be an option for people not travelling north. Like you say, short and sweet. Then maybe the guys heading north could take the NY moors route home. Let’s see what feedback we get from the gang.

As for your driver, don’t we know someone with an E55 Taxi :D

Sorry to hear of your woes Tim, some of it was actually mentioned to me yesterday by a mutual friend.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. :)

Looks a pleasant drive out Tim!
As others, sorry to hear about what happened but sounds like you are on the recovery route now. Just a word of caution on the Pneumonia- it can take longer than you think to recover, had it a couple of years ago resultant from a gangrenous gall bladder which had to be whipped out- full recovery was near 6 months in my case, every case is different though of course- hope to see you there, excellent chaps on here with Lees E55 taxi offer up there!

Thanks for the tips. At the moment climbing the stairs at home is a challenge so I understand this is a long haul recovery, hoping that a ride out in the car in a couple of weeks will be ok though. Staying indoors at the moment until I finish the Doxycycline as I would like my skin not to burn off...

The pneumonia was diagnosed as hay fever, so it got real bad before treatment. Ended up calling for ambulance as couldn't breathe.
