NTG4 Comand hangs and reboots following V10 Nav upgrade

Question 1 - asking because my 2008 S204 with NTG4 had the nav partition on the HDD too small to take updates after IIRC 2015. Is yours the same problem? Only way I found to fix mine was comand.co.uk changing out the HDD for one with a suitably sized nav partition and at the same time installing the "latest" 2018-19 maps (and telling me that MB were still issuing NTG4 map updates). That little exercise was a few hundred pounds, and since then there's been no info about further map updates so I still on occasions find my satvav telling me I'm in a field or unable to find the road I'm searching for! To get to our SIL's parents near Princes Risborough (a new build about 2 years old) I can get to about 2 streets away then resort to Google Maps on my phone for the last 1/4 mile!

Hi Chrishazle... I'm not sure of the root cause. There's some info out there that implies you can apply a "Telematics" firmware update which updates the Navigation software itself, and then the newer maps will work. The problem with that is you don't just whack the Telematics disc in the car - it's a "dealer" job that needs STAR Diagnostics, Xentry or other compatible system plugged in to load it on. Other people have said it's a HDD partition size issue - but maybe the telematics update fixes that.

The good news for you if you have the maps from 2018 is that I believe they're V16 and they're the latest - Mercedes stopped issuing them for NTG4 after that.
