Driving up to Coventry early this morning to chair an AGM.

Suddenly notice that the TomTom (which uses their Traffic service) shows 50 mins late

Much stress, road works with SPECS then add to the delay. Some spirited driving (without exceeding the speed limits, obviously ;)) gets it back down to 40 mins but still not looking good.

When we are only 20 miles away I suddenly twig - the TomTom is still on BST and we are actually going to be 20 mins early :o

Mrs BTB is not going to let me forget this one!

Bill,

I only reset mine yesterday... really thought I was going to be half an hour late and was desperately trying to work out why. ;)

Ian.

I've never been able to set the time on my Tom-Tom. :o

I've nearly done the same thing but noticed before hammering it.. :D

To change the time is fairly simple IIRC

What model Tomtom is it? My 720 updates the time and date as soon as it see's a
satellite..

Mine is a 910, you can't view or adjust the time or time settings via TomTom Home ... will have a look at the preferences on the unit to see if there's a GPS time option.

I nearly got caught with this. I always assumed (wrongly) that my TomTom 730 would update automatically but it didnt.

910 for me too.

My wife says its me thats wrong now she run,s on BST cheers guy,s

Checked my 910 manual. You can use the 'sync' button to pick up the GPS time, but
After using Sync to set the time, you may have to adjust the hours
depending on your time zone.
So I guess it sets the time to GMT?

Just used my new tomtom xl in Germany last week, bloody thing drove me around the bend, couldnt keep up with my vehicle movements in town and in the country, not clear enough regarding junctions etc etc

Last one also one xl was very good pretty exact countdown to junctions, current one seems to be a couple of hundred metres out.

Also seems to take an age to find a gps fix first thing sometimes nearly 3 minutes by which time you are going the wrong way.

Got to send old one away for repair so will ask them about new one.
