There you have it!

I am sure you could characterize the kind of person who would drive such a vehicle, but I'm sure we are bigger than that.

More likely to characterize someone making the stupid comment in the first place, though :thumb:

Can anyone define "old" so that I can see if I am or not.
PS I like Plan B/Ben Drew's music if that helps at all.

If you take your age away from 70 and you are happy with the answer then you are young.

Recently I have started to take my age away from 90 and I'm very happy with that answer.

I think we should encourage this impression---- means cheaper insurance all round. :thumb: Mercedes=Sound marque driven almost exclusively by " gentlemen of a certain age " . Vauxhall Corsa=accident waiting to ' appen init ;)

I'm not left with much!

People don't tell me my car is an old man's, they say it's a generalissimo's!

Saw the geezer catching the bus today after work...... The Ford Fiesta is dead!

Says more about the guy who works at the petrol station than you or the marque.

Mic

Dead right!

He's old, wishes that he'd got a Merc but he's working in Tesco's garage 'cause he's got a sh1te pension....

Silly old git! :ban:

I'm 47 tomorrow, I drive a Merc now and I've had Garanadas and an Omega.... Now there's a bunch of old mans cars for you

Do I giva?

I'm not.. see previous post :p

Wanted a Mercedes when I was younger got one when I was 40. Hopefully have one until I shuffle off.

I agree with him.
It is an older person's car.
Relaxed, reliable and relatively expensive.

Young people rarely drive a merc as they are too inexperienced to fully appreciate the value of convenience and comfort. To them life is long. Mine (unfortunately) is too short to spend time not enjoying getting from a to b.

MBs are though-of as being owned by older people, but then so are Jaguars, Lexus etc.

In a lot of countries Honda are thought of as very-much a young person's car but in the UK they are mostly driven by retired people.

You are old when your insurance premium is less than the VED.....

All my kids prefer to go in the wife's VW Polo as opposed to the c124 or the c126. They even prefer to go in the Mitsubishi crew cab I have for mx!! They see the Mercedes as dated and old. Yet they remind me of what I aimed for when I was younger! I guess it's an age thing. IMO there's no better place to be than in a Mercedes, but then I'm biased

I suppose when you are young you don't appreciate comfort, reliability, quiality stereo (not quantity) and an exhaust that you couldn't go caving in.

The young persons car is not too distant a memory as my wife briefly had a souped up focus 4 years ago which had been owned by a boy racer. Harsh ride, loud exhaust but it did handle well.
