Guys I have an C63 on order and I'm being told that its due for pick up early october. Do I getvthe chance to change spec before the build date as I've had a change of heart on the colour (well the wife has)
i was under the impression that this is the place to ask suck questions without having to wear a flame suit.
Yes i had decided after dealer closed today or i would have asked and not wasted anybodies time on here! As i was under the impression that this is the place to ask suck questions without having to wear a flame suit.
ksten i had chose tenorite grey but would now prefer diamond white
It's a tough lot on here!
I think the op was looking for some general advice in absence of the dealer, that is all!
You're right, it is - a perfectly reasonable question......confirmed by post #4.
100% agree but no harm in getting some feedback though, eh.But only the dealer can answer as only they know the true build date and the progress of the car / order through MB... if they have left a little slack in the delivery date the car could be further through the system and be beyond the point of no return... hopefully for the OP it isn't.
IMHO you will be able to change spec right up to the planned build date but expect to take a hit on the delivery date.
That's interesting. I know very little about the actual build process (One of the reasons I would have liked to have collected from the factory and done the tour). Why would a late change of spec affect the delivery date? Do you go to the back of the queue for parts or something?
It might not. That's interesting. I know very little about the actual build process (One of the reasons I would have liked to have collected from the factory and done the tour). Why would a late change of spec affect the delivery date? Do you go to the back of the queue for parts or something?
Depends what changes you make and what parts are available. Also cars are built in batches... they don't wash down all the paint and change colour between cars you know...
It might not.
They constantly build cars in varying specs (demo cars, lease company cars and so on) that do not necessarily have orders placed on them so to alter a spec during the manufacturing process isn't a big deal.
Exactly!I guess they don't want everyone changing things at the last minute to make it easier for them to plan the builds.
I may have also suggested that the (relatively new) OP needed dealer input, however, I wouldn't have made him feel he'd been flamed.
