Original 55K Oil Cooler Mount Brackets - Needed

Hi All

This is a bit of a long shot but does anyone have any spare brackets off their 55K oil coolers where they mount onto the u/s of the Heat Exchanger?

There are 2 different brackets, one is a single part bracket, the other is 2 part. I have a new Eurocharged Heat Exchanger but my 2 part bracket is missing and I want to re-mount the oil cooler as original.

Couple of pics of what I need. 2 part bracket on l/h end (this isn't my HE as this is on a CLS but same thing).

Any help much appreciated, before I go down the route of getting something made to suit.

Thanks - that's helpful. Looking at one of those diagrams it looks like one section of the 2 part bracket is probably available (part no. 280). Trouble is the other part would be part of the standard HE as its riveted to the u/s of it.

So would that mean your after a scrap secondhand HE to rob the part from?

I reckon mate, although looking at it the part that is fitted to the u/s of the HE is just a plate with some threaded studs so I could probably make something similar if I can get part no.280 from MB.

I will be having my HE upgraded over the next few weeks, so wasnt sure if the original mounting points or what fittings were re-used, but if its surplus i can send it your way. (Eurocharged charge cooler)

There was some corrosion where the 2 part bracket was fixed on my original HE and I think as a consequence it was probably discarded, although I wish it hadn't been!

I have just been to my local MB dealer and they are ordering 1 part of the 2 bracket in for me from Germany (part no. 280 on the mb world link). I will still be short of the other part of the bracket though that would have been riveted to the HE. Therefore I still need this bit or will have to get something made up. Trouble is it has 2 welded threaded studs on it to receive the other part so its a bit of a pain!
