After much research I have finally taken the plunge & fitted a Parrot Mki9100 to my CLK.

I managed to get the parrot kit from ebay "new unopened" for £60.00 & a universal iso for amplified vehicles from Nemesis tech for £70.00 & fitted myself, so all in all cost of £130.00.

Im not overall impressed with the kit as it seems whenever I stream audio or use the 3.5mm jack etc the audio isn't amplified ??? (poor quality). I was informed by Nemesis & an installer that the lead (inc music mute box) would enable the kit to be amplified but this doesn't seem to be the case.

I am going to speak to parrot & nemesis & Ill update the post when I have more info but I just thought I would share my install so far.

Apart from the poor audio from the bt stream & jack etc the kit itself is working great...... the phone call audio quality is excellent both ways & I use tomtom on my iphone which mutes the audio to give me directions fine.

I kept the audio 10 HU, CD changer etc & I have wiring diagrams etc if anyone needs them.

BTW:I couldn't find a way to utilise the steering wheel controls for the phone or volume to the parrot so if anyone knows a way I would be grateful for advise.

I have same kit in both cars and I find it great

Yes I found only great quality music sounds good on the system as its not amplified at all the Bluetooth is great to stream radio stations from over seas which I like

Keep us posted.

Did you manage to enable the steering wheel controls ??

No even do I has used a plug and play harness to mb wiring
I use the remote phob to use it

The phone call quality is great with these kits but the audio is a joke.

Sounds really bad IMO.

Incartec do a steering control interface for w208 but its not cheap.

Gents.... Interesting reading about the parrot issue... I have 2003 CLK... I have the Bose fibre optic system fitted (standard on my car).. According to everyone I talk too...indies, comand, MB main dealer....I can't fit any hands free into the Bose system.... Could this be your problem? ....if you have managed to bypass the fibre optic amp system...please educate me.

Thanks.. Bob

It can be done in cars with ANALOG Bose as the sound is carried to the BOSE amp via the speaker outputs on the headunit. Cars with digital BOSE the sound is carried by the D2B fibre.
