Petrol in an E270cdi does Mobilolife cover?

If only £10's worth of petrol was put in, all was needed was to either bring the tank up to full with diesel or if the petrol brought it up to full, drive it and then fill with diesel. £10's worth of petrol in a E Class tank will not cause any
problems. As I recall, there was a time MB recommended some petrol in diesel in winter conditions.

EEEEEEKKK!!! WRONG ANSWER!!

NEVER PUT PETROL INTO ANY COMMON RAIL OIL BURNER, IT'LL KNACKER THE WHOLE INJECTION SYSTEM.

Don't start the car, push it off the forcourt. That push is worth about £100 per foot.

Believe you me people - I'm the biggest diesel fan out there always raving about my car. It's my wifes' car which is the petrol. I still can't believe I did what I did - it makes me sick just to think about it. The bill was HUGE.

I have mitigating circumstances my life is pure h*ll at the moment.

It obviously is a common place event - the dealership said that they get over one a week! Mobilolife does now cover the 'event' on new cars.

:(

not wishing to be pedantic but if you can't read how do you get a driving licence?

and not wanting to offend anybody but have you noticed that 99% of the time it's the owners of diesels filling their cars with petrol and not the other way round?

does this suggest that

a, a larger number of diesel drivers are illiterate?
b, the petrol companies are in league with the manufacturers and disguise the pumps because they want all diesel drivers to destroy their engines as they last longer than their petrol counterparts?
c, many diesel drivers occasionally forget they are driving a diesel, fill up with the wrong fuel and then look for somebody else to blame as admitting the mistake would make them look silly?

Sometimes before you can be helped - you have to help yourself

Andy

Maybe its because the diesel engines are soo good you forget your driving one ....

I'd always thought that petrol and diesel pumps did have different size nozzles, with the petrol one being smaller. Therefore, I thought it was always possible to put petrol lin a diesel, but not the other way round...not sure if this is correct though as I've never made this mistake myself...but come close several times:-)
