Following on from the discussion here, post your dyno results.

If there are enough to make a worth while start, I'll see about having a graph made up that we will link to from the Engine section. A bar graph of cars against power.

Rear Wheel figures ONLY please.

GrahamC230K - 1999 C230K - Manual - Standard 166.8 BHP
GrahamC230K - 1999 C230K - Manual - Modified (not sucessfully) 168.4 BHP

No, we can officially say they gained me nothing! I posted to make that exact point!! If I said the car was standard, people would have made comment it wasn't, but for this purpose, it really was!! LOL

ok, I dont really qualify as a none MB but 187.1bhp... looks like my little beast may have been tweeked a little.

I don't qualify either but 402.5 bhp (calculated flywheel), 399 ft/lb (again, calculated). SAS Performance, Aldershot.

'97 C250TD auto, standard, 24k on the clock from one little old lady.
100.2bhp, on whatever Charlie's dyno is (Dyno Dynamics?)

c32 amg 288hp ? or just C32 ??

Thats at the rear wheels Phil.

384 at the crank with 378 ftlb

This is because power at the crank is an estimate - really you can only compare figures from those measured at the wheels - even then you really need an average of three.

Sorry to go slightly off topic here but anyone know were you can dyno and tune your A/F mixtures ?

Moded W124

I have a 1992 W124 E300-12 valve engine (m103), mind u this is the 9.2 compression and not the 10.1. Any ways i had the injection ecu and the timing ecu modified, it now revs to the 7000 rpm soft cut out and the engine produces:
210bhp@6000rpms
162bhp at the wheels. not bad for a 12 valve engine, wouldn't u say?
my car has the 4 speed auto with a rear diff ratio of 3.07 the car accelerates: 0-60mph in 7.3 seconds
0-100mph in 17.55 secs.

Nice! Who did the modifications?

Similar bhp @ wheels to mine. I guess your auto box looses much more of the power than mine.

ECU Tuning

Graham I had my ecus (W124 M103 engine has 2 ecus) tuned by one of the best mercedes tuners in Lebanon (Where i live). I was actually sold to the idea after trying out a moded 2.5-16, now that engine can really show some serious performance with the tuned boxes. And yes my auto swallows around 21% power and that is official figuer since BOSCH did the dyno test. Their dyno gives both cranck power and wheel power and even automatically warns you if your auto box is slipping or not. Please can you give me figuers for your cars acceleration. Tuning cost me around 500USD but it was worth every penny. The mid range is just wow. by the way i have switch in the car in place of the mercedes speaker fader behind the gear leaver that switches the mod off even with the engine running.

Anybody know what bhp a 1991 300te 24v had when it was new.

on the other had my little evo has 300 at the wheels:eek:

For the 300-24 BHP

The w124 300-24 should have around 231 bhp at 6500Rpm and around 197 lb-ft and is redlined at 7000 rpm. and i love the evo by the way. A close friend has the evo VI @ 330BHP and it is more than scary. It is amazing how dedicated this car is.

SLK32 AMG - Dyno'd at AMD Technic
278bhp @ wheels
~350bhp @ flywheel (calculated)

Hp update

Finally had my ECUs fine tuned so now i am up from 210hp to something like 215-217 hp, and 205 lb-ft. And now with my 6% shorter diff my car hits 60mph in 7secs dead and 100mph in 16.5 secs, gr8. lol. ya the other day i raced an e46 bmw 330i auto and by 105mph i was just over 2 cars infront. For a 12valve 3.0 w124 auto, it is fast, wouldn't u say guys?.
