I have an issue with my W210 E320CDi, whereby when it reaches to between 1/4 and 1/2 tank, it cuts off. Its done this a couple of times, and inspection with a voltmeter at the correct points showed that it was deprived of fuel pressure at the front.
Having put in 4.5 litres of diesel, it cranked and started fine.
When Mr AA looked under the bonnet, his first words were 'so what is old/original on this car', ie hasn't been replaced.
I myself have had the fuel lines replaced, the high pressure diesel pump, fuel filter, alternator and have had the fuel tank removed and flushed out, the tank fuel strainer cleaned. The previous owner appears to have had the pre-pump replaced, and it looks like a new turbo on it as well.
So, I am basically trying to work out which at just above a quarter of tank the fuel pressure drops and cuts out - any ideas ?
From my research there are new fuel tank based pumps, but then I find this ad on ebay and am baffled.
