Questions for CTEK battery charger owners

I have just taken delivery of CTEK battery charger MXS 3.6 and I have a couple of questions, which will be simple to all of you chaps.

I own a C63 AMG (no comments please).

I want to charge the battery in situ still attached to the veh.

I am trying to work out which clamp to attach to the chassis, if any and which to attach to the battery terminals ?

I was going to attach both to the battery terminals but the instructions suggest if the battery is left in situ I should attach the -ve clamp to the chassis.

It also suggests that if the veh has a +pos earthed battery then the red clamp should be attached to the chassis.

I'm a little confused or should that read thick ?

Next question is regarding the charger itself. Do any of you charge the battery fitted to the C63 on the cold weather program as per instructions.
