Don't forget to check for rust ;)

How would you find out what it sold for?

The car is in from CC Trade aka webuyanycar

As far as I know there isn't a function on the BCA website to can do that (or not one that is free). I suppose if you phone BCA HQ they should be able to tell you.

...in which case they probably offered the previous owner 10p for it.

Why they didn't try and sell this through Car & Classic, EBay or AutoTrader I don't know? I'm sure it would have fetched a lot more than webuyanycar paid for it. Particularly as its a rare estate version and has low mileage.

I imagine webuyanycar shift most of their vehicles through auctions. It's probably the quickest way for them to sell the high quantites they deal with. No comeback either as everything is sold as seen.

Woops, I wasn't clear in my post. I meant I wonder why the original owner didn't try and sell it through Ebay, AutoTrader etc.?

Is it? CC Trade Sales (at least the lot that sell through BCA) are CarCraft (the car supermarket) therefore it is likely a part ex.

I think BCA also had a 117k mile W209 CLK55 either going through today or quite soon. Looked tempting, the mileage adjusted price is about £6.9k... probably need some big balls to run such a leggy one though...

Door cards have MB Tex.

I'll give you the heads up on this one just in case anyone is thinking about it car is from my neck of the woods, CC trade sales is indeed Car Craft and was traded local to me.

CC trade sales normally do a trade auction at Car Craft sites in the UK and there are some good deals to be had if there are any dogs that might have a comeback allegedly they are sent to external auction away from the area ;)

The value given against this car on trade in was ~ £2900 that says it all :thumb:

Willing to give more details but not in open forum :D

Wierdly, people seem to take the silly prices offered by WBAC but if you offered even half-way between that and their asking price, labelled a "joker" or "messer".

For anything not mainstream (like an E55 etc) I think a lot of it is people just could not bothered advertising it - nice to have money to burn and not get a decent price advertising privately

After having an E Class wagon rental in Germany over the weekend (astonishing fuel economy from a 1.8 litre turbo engine when the trip computer showed us averaging 150kph over three days) that looks very tempting!

That estate was in on Tuesday, guess it didn't meet reserve.

I know a lot of people hate Designo interiors, but I love that!
Except for the dodgy yellow ones, I think they make Mercs really stand out from the "depreciation proof" silver with black interior.

I couldn't live with all the wrinkles in the seat. If I saw a trimmer turn work like that out it would go straight back for rectification.

Are you serious? The seats are around 10 years old and will have gone at least twice round the world
