That is an AMG bumper not a S600 bumper.

I have seen one with 2x2 tailpipes and a larger cut out to allow this and one with 2x1 tail pipes like this..........

Yes there are two types (possibly even three!)

The early S55 AMG's only had a single oval exhaust on each side. The facelifted S55 (clear front lights) and supercharged? came with quad exhausts (2 x oval on each side).

Then there were the non AMG S Class's with AMG body styling not sure if they had the exhaust cut out's as per the original S55 or whether they had a smaller or no cut-outs.

Does anyone think the bumper above has been attacked with a saw to make right angle cut outs for tail pipes ? I cant find a photo on any Merc W220 with a bumper like this

Sorry, as stated above - it's not an AMG bumper and it's definitely been modified for twin pipes...

I have managed to find a brand new unpainted rear AMG bumper part number A220 885 0525. Can someone confirm it will fit my S320 2001?
Will I need any other trim or bits and pieces?

Will it be difficult to install? MB want to charge £325 to install which seems over the top for what looks like a few bolts to tighten up

Defiinitelygo with the AMG option.

I would ask your main dealer who they use as their approved bodyshopand then get a quote direct from the bodyshop just to see if there is an unfair mark-up.

I would then go back to the main dealerand if necessary use the quote as a bargaining chip and get the work done through the main dealer.

Why am I saying this?

Contrary to what others may suggest, I value my mobilo warranty and who knows if we ever want to make a bodywork claim. BUT.......

Part of the warranty insists that ANY bodywork repairs are carried out by a Merecedes-Benz main dealer, or authorised agent.

I would not been interested in the cheapestquote, I would want the best.... Especially on such a nice car.

I think your tints look way too OTT but that is down to individual choice

Not being funny, but the pic above doesn't appear to have any cut outs for your exhaust.....I thought that is why you were wanting to replace it in the first place.

This one looks the same, looks like it has cut outs

This one does have them ( AMG W220 bumper) but owner says there is no part number on it! Do AMG ones have a MB part number ??

* Looks like the AMG body styling bumper has an MB part number A220 885 0525 and the AMG bumpers are B66036052 for 12Cylinder W220 models 10/98 to 08/05, B66036051 is listed for 6&8 Cylinder W220 models 10/98 to 08/02

I am just about to order a rear AMG bumper. Do you think I should go for the one with no exhaust cut outs A220 885 0525 or the one B66036051 with 2 cut outs for single pipes ? ( tail pipes would have to be custom made to look right)

I would go for the B66036052, and mofidy the exhaust to have the quad pipes..
