My rear window will go down via either switch and will not go back up, I am sure I have heard of this before but I cant remember the solution

any help will be great guys

Thanks

How do you know both switches don't work? Because if it doesn't go back up it will still be down??:D

Seriously, if it does go back up but not unless you hold the switch, then it needs resetting. When going up hold the switch for 10 seconds when it gets to the top, press down and hold at the bottom. Repeat the up press and it should reset and be OK. If not the switch or the mechanism wants attention.

Good Luck, let us know if you fix it.

It is halfway down at the moment, I can either use the switch near the gear stick or the one in the rear door, I have about 6 inches of play left before it is fully down and wont go back up, I assume it is a bosch part like the ones fitted to my old Ford which are a worm gear and cable so they cant be pulled back up, I drove with them down last night and hit the buttons and let them auto go up before switching the car off, then when it was a bit noisy this morning I realised one of the rear windows was down.

It sounds like the window module isn't recognising the "up" signal from the CAN.
possibly a new module is required or the main control is duff.

Try disconnecting the battery for a while.

Took door card out, it worked, put it back on and it still worked, maybe a wire was trapped???? it was just about the first time I had used it so I dont know whether it ever worked, naughty me was only interested in the engine when I went to see the car and ignored a lot of other things (apart from rust,)

But thanks chaps I shall keep my eye on it and bear your suggestions in mind if it plays up again.

What, you spotted all that then?

She has 1 slight rust patch on the rear wheel arch, none anywhere else YET!! and the large plate under the engine, the name of which escapes me right now, otherwise she is pretty clean, been kept garaged you see by the former two owners, I love her, and true love lasts forever!!
