Recomendations for diesel engine tuning

E-Motion

Does anyone on here use an E-motion box by Celtic tuning? Or a Blue fin by superchips? IF so how do they find it?

Sorry to butt in on this thread, but I have a 2005 (late I-6) S211 E320CDI. After replying to a recent thread in the electronics section regarding the front power socket fuse in the engine compartment fuse box (the secret one!), I have been into mine to change the front power socket to always-live.

Whilst I was in there, I noticed quite a lot of wiring over the top of the fuses and relays, and these are absent from the photo which Diesel_Benz provided in the fuse thread. This got me thinking. Being as how the ECU is in the same enclosure, how can you tell if you have a chipped set-up? Is there an easy way to tell?

I had never considered this possibility before, but the previous owner left some other goodies installed and it would not surprise me in the slightest if he had had it chipped.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

I didn't think "chipped" ecu's were a visible thing more a software thing....so therefore not visible....but I do stand to be corrected.

Most are software changes on modern cars but in the early days of "superchips" etc there was a physical change of the ECU chip or a piggy back device on there.

Have used Blue Fin before on Fords and it does what it says on the tin but there are better and more refined devices out there.
