Retrofit W202 rain sensor

Hi,
I have just been looking at the wiring drawings of the wiper on WIS and STAR finder, and i think the only thing to check would be if your overhead light console has the connection for the sensor.
With the info on this thread and what i have found, i would go for the retro fit and feel very confident about its outcome.

Thanks yet again Andy, I did have a look today and my overhead light console definitely has the 3pin connector slot and with it plugged in it made no difference to any of the wiper settings. Once I can assure coding could enable this feature I could go about getting the windscreen changed at a later stage.

Did anyone have any joy with this retrofit ? As i would like to do this ?

Hi justin ive got the parts just need plugging in and also the new screen needs to go in to. Have so much going on with my car will get there to the rain sensor eventually

I have just bought the sensor, wiring loom, and the cover for £20 and just wanted to check that it was possible before i bothered messing about with it :thumb:

It should work will also need coding once everthing is installed.

I did the retro fit rain sensing wipers to my 2005 C270 Cdi...
In my case I had to alter the wiring in the short loom.. Believe it or not it is incorrect when you get it from MB..
Originally it was
1 - 1
2 - 3
3 - 2

For the rain wiper mod it was recommended i re wire it to:
1 - 1
2 - 2
3 - 3
In other words wire it straight through on all pins.
I needed 2 trips to the main MB dealership befor they managed to do the coding correctly..
In the end all is well and its a brilliant mod that I am glad I did.. Part way through I was starting to get pretty peed off with attempting it..

You will need it coding .. I am 100% positive about this..
More to the point there is a good chance that you will be told it cannot be done.. IT CAN BE DONE AS LONG AS THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING !!!

Cheers for the feedback :thumb: just wanted to know if it was straight forward, coding it is not a issue. Didn't want to buy a new windscreen for nothing :wallbash:

Apologies for resurrecting this thread.

Has anybody got this mod to work?

Andy

Just show the topic. I did it 2 years ago to one of my friends w202.
Very simple. Just needed coding with Star.

Hi Guys,I am trying to retrofit rain sensing wipers to my jul 2007 w203 c180k avantgarde estate and have continually come across "RLS open circuit" when attempting to code it using Star. Can you confirm that the wiring should be as sspeed says ie 1-1,2-2,3-3 as other forums say that pins 2 and 3 should be swopped over? In addition some forums say that you have to disconnect the ocp to power it down before trying to code it,is this true? Thanks, Ian
