Does the facelift 211 come with an oil level sensor? mine does have a dipstick (red top).

Checked via the dash and it comes up with a blank where it calculates the oil level? and it should show the number of litres the car is holding.

I checked my car after I had been out and it was just under the max level but on cold its slightly over? not moved and no oil messages.... just worried as I have done 10k in the car... which was serviced by the garage I bought it from.

Use the dipstick

I did and as above, after 15 mins when parked the car shows oil under max but when cold its over?

Car has just been through a MOT and has been star'd three times this year.

Surely not, the oil expands when gets warmer.

A dipstick cannot lie.

If you're oil pressure light comes on, stop pronto and add oil. Carry a litre or two spare.

No light and oil level has not changed in 10k.... I will service it early in January to be safe..

It shouldn't. I am lapse and maybe only check oil 1x/month on the dip stick and it never changes level.

I do 20-30k/yr so its serviced 2-3x year.

Best thing you can do is service her regularly.

It reads higher when cold as all the oil will have drained back into the sump.
