You wouldn't if you did a lot of track days !!

i dont ;)

seriously i prefer comfort over speed nowadays - a S320 CDI is going to be my next Benz purchase :)

there is always someone faster than you even if you are driving a 5.5 or somthing

Agree with the comment regarding engines. Honda engines are very very good. I had a Fireblade for a while (now that WILL eat all your vehicles when it comes to acceleration), and the build quality was impeccable.

At the end of the day as some have said, its horses for courses. A TypeR to many still looks like a civic. A mercedes always looks like a mercedes, always has residuals of a mercedes and always lasts like a mercedes. Personally the japanese make very very good motorcycles but, average cars. Now, if only mercedes made a motorbike!

Yes the Japanse _USED_ to build average cars, but did you drive a Honda CRV before you bought the M class? Badges aside the gap is far tighter than it has ever been and the Mercedes might be the one behind now...

CAT220, are you taking your TypeR to the Bruntingthorpe GTG ?

To date the number of VTEC failures that they have had to deal with is ..... drumroll ...... ZERO !! so it must be good.

Not entirely true,

my dads honda vtec engine had to be replaced due to the fact that it was built with a piston ring missing! He always wondered why the oil consumption was so high!

So it had a piston ring missing ?

Thats not part of the VTEC system - it would have failed VTEC or no VTEC

I'm talking about the system that swaps cams at approx 5600rpm, not the internal parts that can be found on any car.

Had a duel with a Type R from the M4 along the A404 past Henley, Marlow, etc... they are quick as I could just make out his bumper about a mile back as I passed the Henley junction...:) I waited for him to do a side by side up the hill from Marlow to Wycombe... where I guess the 350lbft of torque was just too much.

I liked the guys spirit (He just grinned at the roundabout) as he reminded me of myself when I used to drive hot hatches!
