My newly acquired S500 had 15 years of swirl marks that I think spoiled the Obsidian black paint work in the sun.

I was gifted some Meguiars DA cutting pads and correction compound and decided to get stuck in. Basically this is a one hit combination that is supposed to eliminate the need for multiple pads and finishes. It starts of abrasive then breaks down to a polish.

I have done one pass but I think it will need 3 or so to refine it more.

So far very happy happy with the results.

Car is looking really good Matt. You can't go too far wrong with a DA, gentle enough not to get you in trouble yet really effective with the right pad and polish. :)

looking good Matt, when you doing mine for me? lol

Is this the black bottle with the red mustang (?) on the front?

I find this is good at hiding stuff but works almost just as effectively when just wiped on and wiped off than when I use my DA with cutting pads. It’s almost like the formula itself hides swirls and deepens the paint rather than the polishing itself.

I do find it’s good enough not for a polish afterwards though.

Car looks superb by the way. How long did it take?
