Thanks for the option guys, does anyone have any info on the PDA options??
I used an iPAQ running TomTom Navigator 2, before switching to COMAND - it'll look something like this if you decide to go with it . . .

Plenty of cheap ones available on eBay. You'll need a Compact Flash Jacket with at least a 128Mb Flash card + a GPS antenna to run it properly. Also works with Road Angel for providing the GPS signal if you ever decide to go with one of those.

I still have £50 worth of charging dash mount for the iPAQ, specifically for the W202, in case anybody is interested.

Stupid question I know but do you need to plug the Ipaq into a mobile for it to work??

LOL. No - I know it looks like its plugged into my phone console there, but in fact the wire was just running inside it, and then hidden behind the dash & running up to the road angel on the other side for the GPS signal.

Too many gadgets eh' (all hidden away now ;))

customs duties

ive been stung a few times by customs when ive ordered from the usa and canada.how it works is all parcels go through the xray machine and a machine that reads the delivery address, all the addresses are then stored on computer so if you import a second parcel ,your delivery address is already on file so customs check your parcel.so usually your first parcel gets through but all others get smacked with the import duty and they also charge you for resealing the parcel if they open it.the post office or the courier who deliver it to you then take the customs fees at your door.no payment no parcel...it dont always work if you get the sender to write on the parcel its value is say £30 instead of £300,as they value the parcel and charge you what they think its really worth...anyway musn't grumble!!!!!!!
keep up the good work all

Just to clear up a few points here although I can only speak from the Parcelforce side of things. A Parcel arrives in England from abroad, it arrives at Coventry where it is examined by Customs. They in turn pay the Government the Import Duty and VAT. For this service they charge an £8 Parcelforce handling fee. The Parcel is then sent to the local depot where the driver signs for it and takes it to the customer i.e. you. He will make 2 attempts to deliver the parcel and collect the charges. (not on the same day naturally). If you require the parcel to be held at the depot due to any reason (mostly contacting Customs and trying to get the charges reduced or inability to cover the cost of the charge) they will do that. If after 21 days the parcel is not paid for and delivered it is returned to the sender. You can pay for the parcel by cash, cheque to the value of £100 supported by a Bankers card. You can pay by credit card over the phone but unfortunatley not with the driver. You can also collect the goods at the depot, but please dont try to pressure the staff into reducing the fees as we dont have the authority to do that. Hope this has cleared up a few points.
