Service Menu and Map buttons Not working on comand

Hi All I just had to post this remedy for any members that may have a total nightmare and spend hundreds of wasted pounds with Mercedes to fix this simple problem.

had a customer bring in his W211 E320 CDI the problem was that the serv and map buttons on his command unit didn't do anything !!

He was told by his local Merc Dealer my command was totally shot and needed replacing at a cost of £3000 plus VAT !!!!!!

I had it on star for hours looked through hundreds of post but nothing then finally had a break through !!

all that had happened is that he had tried changing his logo to amg using the famous 3-5-7- trick

while doing so he had accidently changed keypad to US

so all we did was put it back to ECE turned it off for 3 mins and bingo !!


hope this helps as we spent a lot of time trying to find the remedy and hope it saves someone a lot of time money and effort .

Isn't that only on COMAND 2.0/2.5 ? Or does that work on APS (comand dvd) also ?

I found it but it doesn't work on my 2000 car with COMAND 2.5 and MY2001 update installed.
