Shell Drivers Club Card

I use Shell fuel when I can anyway, so the gift vouchers are a nice bonus. We generally get an Argos one.

I'm sure you're already aware but if you buy 150 litres of v-power per quarter then you get double points on shopping as well as fuel.

I'm about 12 tankfuls away from a Lego Ferrari FXX :D

V-Power petrol every time, in both cars :o

I always use V-Power in the SL, but it doesn't do much mileage.

I recently put a tank of V-Power diesel in the Vito and I have to say it did feel more lively. Hard to rule out placebo effect without a dyno though! The aim was just to run the cleaners etc. through the engine and fuel system though, rather than looking for more power or torque.

Back to the Drivers Club, I've also been sent vouchers that give an extra 300 points if you fill up with V-Power (35 litres or more) twice in December. Then the same scheme again in January. You can hand the vouchers in anytime (i.e in advance) which is nice - if you make the purchases within the month you get the points, otherwise you don't.

Just filled up with Shell Diesel (again) and got handed a Shell Drivers Club Card...thought I may as well sign up as I may get something back for all the money I spend with them....took the form home to fill in and then realised that you get 1 point for each litre of fuel, or basically 1 point fore each £ spent.

500 points are worth £2.50 in vouchers to be used against purchase of fuel.....thus you have to spend £500 to get £2.50 back!! This amounts to 1/2% cashback.....not exactly being generous are they?

Oh, and if I did not want to put the vouchers towards the cost of fuel, Shell have generously offered to match the number of points if I donate my points to a "CO2 Reduction Scheme" (whatever that is)!!

Its great for me as I get free business fuel in the company car via a fuel card, so fill up at Shell collect the points and I get free fuel for the Merc.

Great.

I put about that much in every week - both cars have V-Power - but can't say that I've noticed double points. Must check the statement...

I got a fuel voucher worth £12.50 last week from Shell. Now before I buy anything I check the shellonlineshopping site to see if I can buy through that to get points! It's only really a money saving if you were going to buy it anyway.

 I can't believe I didn't know about this site!! :wallbash:

Introducing Shell Drivers' Club Online Shopping

I use tesco clubcard and a tesco credit card (which you get points on) works very well for me, as we shop in tesco we often get vouchers for 5p off a litre

A bit off thread topic, but if you are doing at lot of travel abroad (and your paying for things yourself) then the Post Office credit card offers no markup on overseas transactions worldwide, which can be several percent over other cards.

I had a shell card, until I moved and no shell garages close by, so went off to tescos and doubled up. Used both airmiles.

Not many places give airmiles here, so got a flybe card. Go to Checkers, spend £30 and get 10p a litre off. superunleaded was 86p/ltr Sunday evening.

got a bit bored with racing round the island now.

Received a letter this week saying that the card is being removed with effect from the 1 January 2010. I can still carry on using it, after that date although the account will have been transferred to a Citi Platinum - a new card will arrive in the New Year.

Letter said Shell are working on other member benefits and more will be known in the New Year. I'm off though: American Express Platinum Cash Back Credit Card seems the next best rebate card, although I think it's an annual rebate rather than monthly as per Shell Citi Mastercard.

Received a letter yesterday. The Shell Drivers Club card will double points for the whole of 2010, ie 2 points for regular, and 4 points for V-Power (per litre).

Coupled with my new American Express card rebate at 5% for first three months, it's not worked out too bad.

I was thinking of getting the Tesco card, but then I saw the offer for the BT card. Considering how long the missus  spends on the phone I figgured this would be the better investment. It gives you mony off your phone bill basicaly can't remember the rate but I did crunch the numbers before applying and for me it worked out better value than the Tesco credit card.
