SLK R171 Front brake caliper bolts.

Just upgrading the brakes on my SLK 350 R171 to EBC Ultimax discs and Redstuff pads.......got the usual problem with tatty, rusty calipers and caliper bolts. I'm going to repaint the calipers, just wondered if anyone could tell me if there's any reason why I can't replace the rusty caliper bolts with stainless ones??

Stainless bolts are not high tensile bolts and consequently are not as strong as your calliper bolts, calliper bolts are usually minimum 8.8 high tensile bolts, more often 10.9 or 12.9 (check your bolt heads for their rating). This explains the tensile strength of bolts.

And bin off the redstuff pads. They are total crap.
