Signals and position.

When taking the first exit to the left, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise
•signal left and approach in the left-hand lane

•keep to the left on the roundabout and continue signalling left to leave

When taking an exit to the right or going full circle, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise
•signal right and approach in the right-hand lane
•keep to the right on the roundabout until you need to change lanes to exit the roundabout
•signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want

When taking any intermediate exit, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise
•select the appropriate lane on approach to the roundabout
•you should not normally need to signal on approach
•stay in this lane until you need to alter course to exit the roundabout
•signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want

When there are more than three lanes at the entrance to a roundabout, use the most appropriate lane on approach and through it.

In all cases watch out for and give plenty of room to
•pedestrians who may be crossing the approach and exit roads
traffic crossing in front of you on the roundabout, especially vehicles intending to leave by the next exit
•traffic which may be straddling lanes or positioned incorrectly

•motorcyclists
•cyclists and horse riders who may stay in the left-hand lane and signal right if they intend to continue round the roundabout. Allow them to do so
•long vehicles (including those towing trailers). These might have to take a different course or straddle lanes either approaching or on the roundabout because of their length. Watch out for their signals

As I am finding out right now (from an accident in June) the insurance company attitude is that it was on a roundabout, no witnesses, its your word against his so it would probably end up as 50:50 (don't forget to get 50% of your excess back from him or his insurance company) and both insurance companies will bump up your base premiums next renewal as if you were each 100% to blame! (even if the claim hasn't been settled at time of renewal)

Just about to put mine into MB approved repairer for de-landscaping.

I am sorry to hear that.

Unfortunately, the roads are full of complete morons, in some areas they are the overwhelming majority - Crete and Birmingham immediately spring to mind. I have learned to anticipate most of their actions, and sadly in many case that proves right. They cut in through your front, overtake and then break, don't stop at the roundabout, don't stop at the lights, don't indicate, or even come in to your lane the from the opposite direction - had them all. I only got away with it as I gave them the way or turned. Very frustrating!
One good idea could be to install a small video camera on the windscreen, as is popular in Us. This would help in similar situations.

In your case - contact your insurance, and describe the sequence of events in writing, and include and supporting information you have. Call his insurance and tell them what you would like done
