Someone has driven into my car, what to do?

Some moronic ****wit has driven into my car when it was parked legally and sensibly in London and hasn't left thier details, there is damage to the front bumper, and the wing, it seems to drive ok but it's more than likely going to need a new bumper and wing and God knows what else is behind the bumper, I will take some pictures in a bit but for a new bumper and wing would I be better off paying for it myself or claiming on my insurance?, the reason I ask is because I have several year NCB and have Trade Insurance so losing it all would be likely to put it up alot, does accidental damage when a car is parked vary in how much my premium will go up opposed to say having a fault accident?.

Really fuming at the moment.

Oh and lastly does anyone know any decent bodyshops for Merc in Surrey?.

It was parked in West London and it got hit by a lorry while the owner was at a resturant, luckily the lorry driver left his details.

Let Kevin (they're in Surrey) have a look at it, you may find the bumper and wing will repair and it may not cost as much as you'd think to get it back to as it should be.

Bummer....there is no easy nor definitive answer to your questions without a cost of repair figure. Once you have that you will know the answer yourself.

As far as Insurance Co is concerned it is 'no claim' not 'no blame', so your NCB would be affected if you decide to put it through the insurance.

Sadly not, my brother said it was very likely a lorry that did it as the black marks are from a tyre.

My wifes was damaged in an NCP carpark, nothing as bad as yours but still quoted over 2k from Mercedes to fix ?

When you say no CCTV, how aboiut any shop owners or house residents that may have it. Who ever or what ever did that WOULD have known.

I looked at your car list and thought you'd have taken the Pug but unfortunately not...

They've really fecked that up for you.

I would pursue the CCTV - that's a 'failing to stop' job.

I think it was £5000 to fix the front of my Alpina when some bint forgot how roundabouts worked. Looked a bit like that damage right the way across but had not bent the front wing.

You need cameras like cop cars have. Something mounted in front of the rear view to pick up this kind of thing.

Terrible shock to come back to that. Not surprised you're fuming. These kind of perpetrators get what's coming to them eventually. Sadly, you're on the list of victims that end up forking out financially and emotionally. Your pride and joy will be back to full health in time and this will be a distant memory.
