Srs light on dash roof won't work

I recently purchased a 2001 slk 320 w170 which had been damaged in the drivers side quarter panel. Everything worked fine the roof worked every time except the damaged quarter panel had crushed rear quarter window motor soo it didn't go down when roof operated and used too catch parcel shelf corner flaps
So I removed parcel shelf to help roof open and it worked fine
Then I prized open quarter and removed quarter window and motor and also took out seat belt unit now my roof does not work at all ??????????
The red light flashes once on ignition and flashes when I push switch forward or back but motor does not operate any ideas ??? Thanks

Removing a seat belt will not be appreciated by the cars safety systems!

but will that stop the roof from operating i have replaced seat belt tensioner and connected wires but still does not work is it a feature on the slk that the srs light stops roof working ?? thanks

roof now working fine did a code fault reading and came up with passenger airbag not connected passenger seat removed drivers seat removed seat belt tensioner open circuit and 5 othere srs faults because half thesrs system is removed at present code reader stated poor voltage on battery so changed battery and roof works perfect so the srs system has no effect on the roof working at all totally seperate from srs system
