starting a c240 v6 conversion to a c43 amg

hi all as many may know i have a c240 v6 sport

im going to be converting it soon


to a c43

i have collected

c43 engine
c43 dash clocks
c43 ecu and eis and key and steering lock
alloys
and more


i need a few bits if any one can help please do

im looking for

exhaust manifolds
back box
a gearbox i must check my gear box to see will it do but i bet not

i have to check about fuel pump

and i need a rad also maybe

and a set of front brake caliper s and discs



i know it would be cheaper to buy a car but were is the fun in that

also so far im just under a 1000 euro on parts

and ill be doing the work so no fee their


and tips and help welcome you learn every day i will take pictures along the way
 
Hi,
Regarding the fuel pump and filter, the 43 items are different from any other 202, they are different to the ClK 430 and I believe the E430, it was one of the items that were uprated, to make it an AMG.
Have you got an airbox yet? Might have one, I also have a pair of exhaust manifolds, that I might be persuaded to get rid of.
The gearbox I believe is unique to the C43 that is according to the gearbox pt. No. and the EPC, though I,m sure I have seen quoted before that its the same as the SL 600, I think I would be looking for a CLK 430 gearbox, torque convertor and TCU
Where did you get the engine from? Is it Jacks old one?
 
i have the intake filter housing

i got the engine from olly collecting saturday

how much for the exhaust manifolds pm the details if you want to sell

HI,
You are aware that the suspension on the 43 differs only from any other 202 in that the front and rear roll bars are thicker and the coils springs and shocks.
Steering wise the drag link and steering box are different on the 43 too but as your donor vehicle is a V6 and not an inline 4 I believe the ones on the car will be ok.
 
yes the wishbones on the v6 and the drag link are the same as the c43

also i have fitted a set of c43 springs and shocks i got form germany the sway bar's i have not changed as of yet but im looking for many more parts the list gets longer buy the day when i learn more

I have a pair of C43 front brake calipers complete with nearly new pads if you are interested mate :thumb:

i have a few more parts like the manifolds now
 
I also have a 113 lightweight crank pully that might interest you. Take a look at it saturday.

I have one left.

justin if you want it go for it as im just happy to get the engine now ill do more tweaking after all is running well with the car after the change over

ill get on to olly again one day

i know he has some treasure in his place ill have to go with blinkers on or ill spend all round me
 
Just buy a real AMG C43 !!!!!!!!

why whats the fun in that any one can do that ill learn about every aspect of building one and ill enjoy it

ill buy one also next year also im back in january i have several old mercs this is just a winter project
