I am running a set of 18" staggered monoblocks on mine at the minute to see what it drives like. If ok i will get them refurbed. They don't stick out at the front but are almost level.
I think the rear looks alot nicer with the wider dish :D

The front discs on a C43 are the same as an E55.
They are a funny size, no other MB except above discs are the same. IIRC the disc diameter is 315mm.

Hi

A 202033 and 202093 both have a 722.631 according to the EPC

A 202086 (C240T) has either a 722.698 or a 722.609

Hope this helps

perfect thx

ill have to look in to the box i have more i need to ring my friend and ask him about it

Hi there!

Careful with the front brake disc sizes. I have been trawling the net to try to source alternatives for my C43, as the OEMs are so expensive.

The alternatives advertised on eBay etc all seem to be 316mm x 28mm.
However, all the guidance on the net says the OEMs are 334mm x 32mm x 48mm.

The closest confirmed alternative I can find is the C320K discs, which are 330 x 28 – they are thinner, but people have confirmed fitting these with no probs on the web (and posted photos).

I came very close to taking a chance on E430 discs. They are sold in 2 sizes, one of which is 330mm x 32 mm x 47mm (and available on eBay for way less than OEM). But couldn't find anyone who'd tried them.

I asked Inchcape to compare the OEM vs E430 discs for me but they declined, so I bottled it and bough the OEMs (on back order from Germany for last 3 weeks).

Good luck!

That box is off a 430 I'm sure it's not the same as a c43 box

The torque In a c43 would be more then a 430

I'm sure

The advert implies its the same unit, but like you say...

I just checked EPC, but the E430 variants are slightly bewildering without a chassis number to go on. It implies that the torque converter may be a match (part number wise), but the gearbox different.

Can anyone with more EPC chutzpah advise?

Hi,
The gearbox though it will fit and will almost certainly handle the extra torque is not the correct one the C43 Gearbox was only ever fitted to a 43, which makes them quite rare.

Found an old post by Olly implying that the E430 box has the same torque rating as the C43 box:
http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/117978-e430-200k-mad-buy-2.html

And another web page from a chap who put an E55 box into the C43 (different part numbers):
Transmission swap E55 into C43 feedback - MBWorld.org Forums

The box and converter just failed to sell for its £150 reserve - worth a punt? I guess it would be nice to know the differences between all these gearbox variants first.
