starting a c240 v6 conversion to a c43 amg

the ecu is from a car in the state s it turns out but once it those the trick i dont care im getting it remap-ed once all is said and done if i can


is their two electric fans on the inside rad nearest the engine or just one from the viscous fan


It is one viscous running off of the water pump and a twin fan on the outside

great picture thank you look like you know your car also very well but the pic front left of pic i see a small rad under the horn is that for the gear box

i have been on to a friend in germany and he is looking out for one for me the oil cooler that is

i just bought a c43 diff

and prop-shaft

just need a good gear box at a good price some of them have mad money on them


and then i ready to start

I don,t meant to correct you but the rad/cooler under the headlight is for the transmission oil cooler, new these coolers are in the region of £270-300 inc. the transmission oil pipes, I think you will be lucky to get this item second hand as the steel pipe unions seize onto the aluminium cooler.
The engine oil cooler can be seen in justins first engine pic, it is just to the left of the oil filter housing.

ya i have the oil cooler i might sort some thing for the gearbox oil cooler
 
hi i have received my c43 diff i was going to change the oil in her what would be the best to use and the part number please

still looking for gearbox if any one knows of one or another model that would fit and take the power please let me know thx
 
in the picture is the c43 diff i have a question what is the nob at the top for in the diff

also i checked the filler screw and it well rusted up im wondering how to change the oil now

The valve at the top of the diff is a breather mate. Get a allen key socket for the drain plug and with a breaker bar it will undo. They are always tight ;)
 
mine looks really rusted in i hope it will break ill spray it up and leave for a day or two then ill try and crack it

im still wondering might it be better to fit a E55 w210 box to the engine as their are more of them around for sale

Hi,
If you use the 55 box I would be worried about electrical issues not with the box itself but with the way it would giving incorrect signals to the ECU, this is one of the reasons why I haven't fitted a 55 box and diff to my 43.
I,m sure the problems could be solved, but what it would require I don,t know.

i think ill stick with the stock c43 box so i wont have the ecu prob

i have pm the member on this site but no answer about his gearbox
 
hi all been very busy lately and a little ill over christmas when i was off

but to day i had a chance to change the rocker gaskets on the engine and fit the spark plugs

i ordered new oil cooler gaskets and exhaust studs and nuts

the new rocker gasket has a new tab to aline the gasket not on the original one a seen in pick

these are the spark plugs they gave me im not sure are they the right ones

also my calipers arrived today i must clean and get new discs the spanner in the oic is of a 17 just to show how big they are

i need to know the size of the c43 front discs as i can not get a set from ATE

IF I KNEW THE SIZE I MAY BE ABLE TO GET A SET FROM ANOTHER MODEL CAR
