Summer Solstice-perfect for my 1st Jolly

...........I will if there is food involved mate.....

Quite simply if you and I were at an all you can eat buffet, you wouldn't get a look in as I would pounce THAT fast on the food....:thumb:

Incredible...

The power is the biggie, much more torque, makes it more refined and effortless for "mooching about" and for press on driving a lot more rewarding. Its a genuine "thrilling" car to drive and gives a buzz over the twisties.

The sports seats are a lot better, more supportive. The wheel buttons very good for press on driving as both hands ALWAYS on wheel. Even though its an automatic, I do like to take control of what its doing.

The look, IMHO looks lots nicer the sport, the wheels set it off as do the tinted windows. I am a young fella so it may not be to all tastes.

The only downer I have is the steering and its variable assistance, when going at speed or round a tight corner it weightens up, whereas the old car had a constant level of power assitance so the steering always felt the same. I am sure I will get used to it. The wheel itself is smaller and nicer to use.

All in all, IMHO it was worth the money, for me, this car. Its put a massive grin on my face (but not that I was unhappy with the last car).

You should really consider one as a future car. :thumb:

sounds great looks great as well but im going to keep the 210 as i prefer the look compared to the 211 and my next car is defiantly going to be a CL or SL 500 when i get rid of the CLK. im a petrol man when it comes to saloons might get a diesel ML tho.. :thumb:

Lovely photos of a lovely area. 15 years ago or so I kayaked up Loch Lomond and down Loch Awe with 10 other people. We spent several days lazily paddling along each of them with all our belonging in either the kayak or a Canadian canoe.

We got permission from the Laird to camp overnight in the ruined castle that is in one your photo's. It was amazing I cooked a meal for all on camping stoves and we told bad jokes well into the night.

Great pictures, road, car.

As I've said before I'm huge fan of those rims on 211's. They set the whole car off perfectly. Plus I really like the exhausts. Mine are hidden apologetically behind the rear valance :-(

I'm sure you'll get used to the parameter steering. I know what you mean about feelng it kicking in and out. I can easily live with that quirk, though, as the trade off is light steering in town and firm steering on the road.

Steve - it seems you're now finding gearbox 'M' mode useable? I still don't much care for mine - seems to have a mind of its own at times! As for the parameter steering, I can honestly say that I just don't notice it at all. Maybe it's not working?

Nice pics BTW!

Yes, I have wheel buttons rather than paddles. I don't use M mode that often but just the wheel buttons within S or C to give me the control I need, normally moving between 4 and 3 (meaning car won't go higher than gear 4 or 3) gives enough maniplulation to get the car to perform well on the twisties.

The M mode works, but its infuriatingly slow.:o

The wheel buttons work differently than the paddles.

Each button can change both up and down, its essentially a rocker switch. The part of the button furthest from you does the down shift, the part closest to you does the upshift.

Didn't relise this at first, but is a very good system actually.
