C250cdi coupe cavansite blue,,auto,pan roof,leather
I am losing my C Class coupe 250cdi six months before the lease ends. Bloke at work has left and I am to take over his year old
Audi A6 avant 3.00tdi S line Quattro auto. Only 6k miles. Loads on here would smile and say yippee . But I like my coupe . I so do not need a car that seats five six footers with a vast boot. But no choice in matter and I will have car for three years . Anyone on here know what they are like as, to me, they are next to a hearse in desirability .

Don't knock it until you try it. My neighbour has one, he's a previous M-B & BMW owner and never has a bad work to say about it. I reckon too it would leave the C250cdi for dead.

Best I can offer is the fact they are very comfortable, versatile and good in the winter.

Sadly a looker they are not even with all the plastic s line carp bolted on.

Hope you will not suffer financially , either through being penalised for ending your lease early , or being asked to pay more for the 'downgrade' ?

Sounds like his employer leases the car to me........

We are a partnership so no bik worries . Had a look at A6 avant in Sainsbury car park. It really is BIG.My wife not I impressed either. My car is near end of its lease so financial decision to have to keep A6 ...handing back A6 early will incur £16k penalty so no brainer to keep. But it will be nice to be behind a six cylinder again and I know it goes like stink from being a passenger.

Once you have had an estate, there is no going back. Every other car seems to be impractical, cramped and compromised. I love my estate, really love it.

If it is a high-spec, there might be a reversing camera, and possibly even two tugs and a harbour master to help in really tight spots. Enjoy!

I have had 2 C class estates and they are practical. But still prefer my coupe I have now.

Ahh, but that is because they were C-Class estates - which are just big enough to get a small overnight bag in.

Now, this Audi, whilst not as big as an E-Class (in which you can actually live, should your luck turn and your house be repossessed), is still big enough to carry a couple of washing machines, or - if you prefer - a couple of tumble dryers.

It's that feeling of "shame there wasn't a kitchen sink that needed moving, too, 'cos I could have fitted that in as well" that marks out the true estate from the lifestyle motor.

And it is that kitchen sink sentiment that causes grown men to actually weep when their estate car is in the garage being serviced and they have to fall back on their wives' little run arounds.

Fire, knives and estate cars - these are the three elemental aspects of masculinity that have been brought forward unaltered from our days of living in caves (how else but in an estate car were you supposed to get the mammoth back to the cave? Certainly not in a "coupé", I can tell you - hardly room for a prehistoric rabbit in those).

Light a fire, sharpen your knife and embrace that A6.

Couldn't agree more with Mr prprandall. Keep it for 6 months and you won't go back to a small car. I've had estates since I turned 30 and I can't see why you wouldn't.

I've had my 3l A6 for a year now and it's been a decent car. The only complaints I have are the entertainment system isn't as good as Comand and you can keep knocking the lights on and off with your right knee.

As it seems to be a foregone conclusion I'd just say enjoy it and offer fast trips to the tip for your neighbours

Just done a round 400 mile trip North Yorkshire to Norfolk and back .A roads ,Motorway and back roads .....and Norfolk has some ,very flat, beauty's in the latter respect.i will do a brim to brim mpg tomorrow but it shows 39mpg on computer so I imagine around 35 mpg true. You can punch in how the car goes from Eco to a sort of sport setting. Used both and ended up not really liking either. There was a "middling " setting which was ok. Comfort: not as good seats as my C Class 204 coupe .Surprised by this really , but true.Very good ,very quiet, cruiser on motorways and the like. On minor roads, with car in sport, it really is very good and I blitzed my way to Peterborough from Watton . Smiles all round. If I needed a big estate I would consider it, especially with the Quattro benefits but otherwise would go for a 220 E class estate as a better all rounder. I just like Mercedes over Audi.

You have to admire Audi interiors .Full stop. Being picky , Merc do better seat controls though ! Other than that , Audi has an edge .
