A W222 S Class parked next to mine at work obscuring my car. It was the same colour.

As the owner was reversing, work colleagues thought that my car was being stolen !!!!!

It might show how generic the design has become but I would swap my car for a W222 any day

Exactly! I am glad you are in accord with me. The E looks bloody awful on the outside and dreary on the inside (all clashing angles and hard, edgy materials - and what is that nav screen doing in a shoe box on the dash?) and the C Class iPad is nothing short of a catastrophe. S Class still looking good on the outside, but the dashboard again....

As well as my 55, we also have a Audi S4 cabriolet. It's a 2007 model and have owned it for the past three years. It's extremely well put together, feels tight & solid on the inside even with it being the cab there are very few squeaks that can be heard from within the cabin. It does however lack some features that I would expect it to have, such as auto lights and wipers which for a circa £45k car when new would expect!
Would have one again, but would probably opt for the RS4 or 6. But for now. Loving the 55!

My company car was an A6 - I replaced it with a BMW F10 5 Series, even though I have an S211 and an SL500 to prove my MB credentials. Nuff said!

Being totally objective, and having used the "infotainment system" for a good few weeks now I find the MB Comand to be much easy to use than the MMI system in the Audi, but conversely the actual cluster information system and menu is easier to use.

Thank you all for the replies.Enjoyed them all. Car did 36mpg brim to brim ..not bad for a 245bhp engine in a large car I suppose. My C Class would have done over 50mpg though. I will be back to Merc as soon as I can !
