The Turbo Thread.

Rather than totally wreck your engine, would it not be better to just buy a C43 and get it supercharged ?

I agree - would be better to buy a C43/C36 etc, or if you really wanted to tune the 230k up, a larger pulley/intercooler + exhaust etc.

The smart money would go for the AMG, probably cheaper in the long run too :)

hey guys, I have a W140 S320 (M104 motor) and I want to get the mosselman twin turbo upgrade, its roughly $6800 US dollars and it will raise power from 229HP to 320HP. Do you think its worth it?

Is the mosselman kit well engineered? what did you do about software tuning? is that included with the kit?

also i noticed your kit has the intercooler but i dont think the 6cyl has intercooler.

anyways does anyone know anything about the turbo on the 6cyl motors and do you all think its worth it?

It i run turbo with straight pipes and high flow exhaust i should be able to get alot more power than just 320HP huh?

Thanks for any help possible.

Mosselman kit is good, but if you can find a TurboTechnics kit it would be even better.

Mosselman uses a proprietary piggyback fuel controller that can't be fiddled with.
Turbotechnics has additional injectors that can be fired by a modern stand alone fuel controller. Modern units are 3D mappable via laptop.
The supplied Turbotechnics fuel management is junk so just throw it into the bin.

Mosselman has a top mounted intercooler that is not as efficient as the chassis rail mounted Turbotechnics unit.

Both will make power and a whole lot of torque.

Using a Split Second additional injector controller along with a manual boost controller I'm pulling at the rear wheels 262HP / 302 lbft torque @ 7PSI on a Mustang load dyno.
This would factor out to almost 340+ HP and 390+ torque at the flywheel.
This is on my M103-12V motor
The base line pull proved 30% drive train loss.
Also the load dyno reads 15%-17% lower then a typical inertia type dyno.

You may be able to find the bits and pieces for the TurboTechnics kit from some of the forum members.

Good Luck :thumb:

there is a turbo technics complete kit for sale on ebay uk, 1750 that will go straight on. a 140 320 104, may have to play with the exaust though!

koolvin, how much did all of this cost you to do? i've got a C180 and this looks fantastic :D

That kit is for sale,or maybe is sold.Drop him a pm

I'm here. I used the turbo technics manifolds, turbos, and downpipes on my car with the mosselman management as that was already fitted. I've now sold the mosselman manifolds and downpipes to a guy in Hong Kong! Still have the rest of the TT management, intercooler etc if that's any good?

I said I wouldn't but I have! :P

/me runs for my life

oh this is Mark fitting the oil feed taken from the oil channel under the manifold (already taken off)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I need to ask, is this oil feed tapped into the block or already present and you add the feed line to it?

Last year I was running garrett gt35 on my C280,
with m104 2.8 engine. Just a ordinary enigine with orginal rods and pistons and so on.

I took of about 0.8mm from the pistons, running a compresion ratio at 9:1.
Also using electromotive gt, and the car ran a entire season with no trouble.

Running 1 bar / 14psi, that gave me with my own road map,
370 hp at wheels and 515nm/380lbft at wheels.

412hp at crank and 575nm.
