Ouch!! you would have to be utterly mental to not wear the correct protective gear!

I was surprised on holiday in the south of France to see the motorcycle gendarmes booking speeding cars on a regular basis wearing short sleeved shirts. No jackets at all. O.K., it might be 35C over there, but if a speeding car refuses to stop and a high speed chase is on the cards?
