thinking of swapping the GL

If you want a Porsche, buy a Boxster, Cayman or 911. The Cayenne is an exercise in badge engineering and who needs an off roader that can lap the Nurburgring in 9 minutes?

Keep the GL, or trade it against a Range Rover would be my advice.

Completly and totally academic I know, but I dont like the look of them. Rather have either an ML or a GL.
Just goes to prove that the thing that draws people TOO a car is its looks. Everything else is negotiable.

quick update ....going to stick with the GL for another few months and see want is around about june time  thanks for all you comments a suggestion, all were read and taken on board ,,regards jon:)

my vote goes for a proper Range Rover too :)

Range Rovers are nice.....very nice ;):)

But stick with the GL until you know what you really want :)

Aaah well, a RR is a different beast altogether.... I've only ever been in 2; the last one had a big blue roof bar on it, a siren, lots of cones in the boot and a mad driver ;)

Gets my vote  :o

thanks for that link just read it    11.mpg (itwas the 4.8) makes me wonder if just to wait for the new gl  regards jon

See? I said you would need a deep wallet for the petrol!

porsche could not do a good enough deal with me only wanted to offer me £34000 for the gl:D over 50% loss in 12 months ..going to keep with MB i think + as said in another post only 2 years warranty with porshce:mad: ....may not keep a car that long but peace of mind if i did need to regards jon

Imagine if you'd bought an R-class!! :D
 wouldnt even want to think about that...originally thats what i was getting:( but my salesman at MB shrewsbury advicied me against the r class and said i would not be happy with it ,SSSSSSSOOOOOOOO right he was ...regards jon

At that rate of loss keeping the GL another yr would be best for it to level out a bit.

As for an R class, if it were £40K new a year old it would be more than 2£20K so surely??

I like both the GL and R class so some great buys to be had soon :)

mine in the next 6 months or so:D

The RR is not the same as a Disco so you cannot infer RR reliability from Disco data.

JD Power do not differentiate between Disco 2 and Disco 3 models, which are completely different cars. The figures for the D3 are somewhat skewed by the inclusion of the v unreliable D2. Early D3s did have issues but it now seems that they are much improved. Anyway this is a bit academic as you cannot infer anything about RR reliability from Disco data.

I saw an R class on the M6 last week. It is a BIG car! much bigger than I imagined. What seat configuration do they have?

As for the GL, I didn't know a revised/new model was on the cards. Mine is delivered in about 4/5 weeks. I really like the RRS, there are so many on the roads though it is not exclusive enough.
