You like your car a great deal, that's obvious, and no harm in that but I like my car a great deal, as d w124 likes his. If we dis your car it is because of your sometimes overbearing attitude to it compared to any other Merc ( let alone any other car). I'm looking for a nice little spoiler for the tailgate of my car and either twin exhausts or a twin pipe set-up. IT WILL NOT BE STOCK SO WHAT.
Ridiculous is not the right word, perhaps ask does anyone else do this and what do we think, don't set the agenda in the question. Which is worse ( in your opinion ) underbadging an AMG as a 180 or overbadging a 180 as an AMG? IMO neither is wrong. All I need to do is remove CDI and suddenly the Corsa boys think I have a V6. But only very ( very ) few people would notice and even fewer would care.
Now ask a techy question about your Cab or something else. This is a Merc forum and I for one would like to see more about your car and less about your life...( sorry )...

I have not said it is right or wrong, i have just stated my own opinion that rebadging UPWARDS can appear quite tacky.

As previously states, AMG is quite a prestigious aspect to the Mercedes Brand.
When i started this thread, it was about a CLK that had placed its badge back to front and looked totally ridiculous.
From that, the thread comments have spiralled out of control, but that is fine, i have fueled it, others have fueled it, but as stated previously, im not here to shut up and listen, im here to comment, feedback, discuss, praise, remark..
its free information, free will and under no circumstances am I..
1. being rude to any one directly
2. showing of about something
3. sitting here talking about me me me
4. creating inflamatory remarks about you, your car or person.
If you find i have commented on something and you or your car falls within the category of the car, thats not the intent, it is a hypothetical scenario, or suggestion about showing some form of comparison.
If this forum did not exist, one would not dicuss or raise the topic.
I raise this topic to reference to something i saw. that was it!
i cant change what i saw, or how i felt about it when i saw it.
But on being a mercedes forum, it was a discussion point, which then spilt over into AMG badges as general, and amg on non amg badges, and then amg badges in silly places..
nothing is right, nothing is wrong, just one can comment and suggest opinions, thoughts, recommendaions, remedies, etc..
You make it sound like i am causing instabiity to the forum.
How is this so? because i was born with equal right to each one of you and thus i can speak my mind and thoughts, right or wrong, but its my mind, not yours or any one elses mind, and on being so, as transparent as i am, i will openly speak out of my views and thoughts.
if i have done something wrong, i correct it, as Koolvin knows.. ie.. video thread on speeding accidents, which was removed, and i spoke to him as to why, and so now i refrain from that, due to possible effects on others.
Speaking of ones mind is not detrimental to you, your personality or your life or car, its an expression of a view that, as stated prior to this post, is just AN OPINION, and at no point have i insulted any one directly, nor do i intend to ever insult any one directly at any point, but being a topic about mercedes, anything i will ever say will, very probably, include atleast one person under the unbrella of topic, but that is not me steering my conversations to only one umbrella or category of person. Its to a characteristic of the marque and what we see and hear, and thus on hindesight, maybe i can see why some will take what i say as inconclusive and open to suggestion or insult, but thats not my intent, so sorry you do/dont take it personally.
