there is a new system now the drill wholes and have the metal pulled from the inside out grind off the metal puller and then finish it no more too much putty it will never be perfect but very near to it.

it is cheaper to do as well, but i am sure u can find 2nd had tail gate and if lucky u get a colour match too!!
