Hi, again, have some technical issues with my car, it hapened about 6times in 1month when suddenly while driving, turbo boost on intake effekt is gone, so there is no power under 2000rpm, it becames without turbo, until i stop and restart car,
what can cause such thing ?
car is mercedes W210 E250 Turbodiesel
1998.

Probably the MAP sensor that measures the boost pressure.

This is a little square box on the l/h inner wing with a pipe that goes to the intake manifold.

Best to get the codes read but there isn't much else on a 250 turbo.

Probably about 70 euros and 2 minutes work.

The car should be quicker after as it controls the on boost fuelling.

Worth checking the boost regulation modulator as well, tehy can split.

Change it with the one for the EGR valve as a test. You don't need the EGR valve anyway.

this is to messy for me to change something :) thera are so many vacuum lines, i'm not ***** wich and what shoud i change with what :)

The EGR vacuum modulator and turbo modulators are on the Right side of the engine, the Boost sensor is on the left side fed from the manifold.

It should be reasonably obvious when you look.

yes its very clear now, but it would be nice if you tell me what number of vacuum lines in this picture i should change as a test. ?

A picture says a thousand words..

There are two plastic modulators, both the same (item #53).

Effectively pipes 74 and 176.
Physically swap the two units over including all pipes and the electrical connections.

One connects to the turbo wastegate and one to the EGR valve.

You can add pictures onto this site by either attaching them into a post or adding a link to a web storage such as photobucket.

here i have what is under my hood :) got all hands black now :D

p.s, pipes number 20 and nr 14 were cut off after they "fix" egr
number 5 and 6 where manualy connected

they are not the same... one is much bigger and heavier, totaly different parts. they have same power connections

They do the same job so as a test it should be ok to swap them over.

We don't get the E250 turbo so it's not easy to say exactly. On the C250 turbo and E300 turbo they are the same part.

I still think it's the boost sensor at fault.

i wonder is the egr swithched off correctly ? :) in few minutes i will find the picture of c250TD underhood, and show you that those are different parts totaly

yeah ok here its only 88euros :) for me its not so easy to spend for "maybe it will work" and nobody has it in place, and they wont give it for try :) i think its 011 542 07 17 code, denso japan,
as i asked they said its some other company but code is the same, and in vehicle list both c250td and e250td included.

To test you need to swap the vacuum pipes over and the electrical connector.
The hissing when the engine is turned off is Ok, it's just the vacuum leaking back in.

The garage may have disconnected the EGR transducer because the transducer was split so leaking, It can happen to either one.

ok, and what should i expect after change ? ;) in 10min i will do so and write back soon :) but you saw in the picture that they are different parts :)

sory but i canot find any logic to do so, and cannot doit because when i took the power conections off i saw that they have a bit different sockets, so they cannot be swaped.. black hands, no use :)

Ok. I'm still fairly sure it's the boost sensor, they are known for this fault..

i'm also found a lot of forums about the map sensors failures, and i may say it could be so :)
i wonder could it be Air Intake Temperature sensor ? i found that it was pretty oily :) can i wash it in kerrosine ?;
the main problem and solution why i'm doin this research is to find out why ..? when i floor accelerator down to the bottom on the first gear, i dont get power to spin my weels, espesly very very low power under 2000rpm, in the city some times i need a quick start to join the main street, but it looks that something is blocking the fuel delivery-> no diesel smoke,/ so if the map sensor can do the ritght fueling under 2000rpm so i gona buy it :)
