Brushes can cause swirls ....better off using a Lambskin mit...IMHO

I accept your view but I cant see how a mit is less likely to cause swirls than a soft brush constantly being flushed with copious amounts of water, carrying any grit etc away?

I honestly cannot see any adverse effects on my paintwork after using this method for ~4yrs :o
 
Must be because I have a black car which is a beggar with swirls etc etc...:D

If you cant see the swirls then dont let it worry you , but i bet they will be there , i have used a soft brush myself in tough times during the winter and without fail it has marred the paintwork but it never showed anywhere near as badly on my silver W210 as it does on our darker cars , it was marked just the same though
